The Oakland Raiders have filed a grievance against former quarterback JaMarcus Russell(notes) seeking repayment of $9.55 million, the team confirmed Thursday.

I agree. That post by TulaneTigerFan was absolutely laughable. Just because someone only has 6 posts on here doesn't mean their opinion doesn't count. Experience on here doesn't make you any better at posting. If anything people get stupider and stupider the more they post on here.

Showing up for camp multiple times 40-50 lbs over his expected playing weight isn't a behavioral issue?
this always turned out to be false. There would rumors that he was 300 pounds and it would turn out he was at his usual 270. He should weigh less than that, but he always showed up in the same average shape.

once again, what is this based on?
Does he have any documented money problems?

based on the fact that many NFL players with the same lazy bum attitude as JR have quickly wasted all their money away and become broke. It's a shame that these guys could be set for life with just a few sound investments but instead they throw all their money down the drain by buying all kinds of unnecessary stuff like gaudy jewelry.

Based on the fact that Tigah Nation gets a raging erection when JR is criticized.
Some things haven't changed since 2004.

Remember when Al D fired Lane Tiffen. He refused to pay out his contract. Said Tiffen dissed him and the team.
Who looks deader, Al D or Kieth Richards?

This is bullshite
in no way, shape, or form should Jamarcus have to repay GUARANTEED money
the signing bonus is the only leverage players have seeing as how a club can terminate a
contract at any time...jamarcus should
not and will not repay that money, hopefully the NFLPA makes sure he doesn't
just another example of how terrible a franchise the raiders are

Rumor is the contract may have an out. Not all of the money he collected may gave been guaranteed.

According to one of the sources, the grievance is based on the contention by the Raiders that the contract was changed at one point during Russell’s three-year stint with the organization and that he’s not allowed to keep all of the money he had collected prior to his May 7 release. Russell, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft, was guaranteed $32 million as part of a six-year contract reportedly worth $68 million.

I doubt JR signed a changed contract which would take his money away. Nice try by the Raiders but they prove why they're a clown organization yet again. If they could actually do this they would have tried it with Javon Walker who they would have a much better argument against.
