Sooooo, if LSU gives up 478 yrds to Washington, How many yards are they gonna give up to teams like Alabama, UF, Georgia, ole Miss?

Frankly I'm a little worried about this year...

We all are. Only few will admit it though.

Ive been waiting on this one.

Here are two thoughts.

1. LSU will not face a legitimate running threat at QB who is as fast as Jake Locker. The kid can fly and throw the ball. He's wayyyy faster than Tebow.

2. Not many teams have a running back like Polk. That kid is going to be a star. He's like a mini Percy Harvin. How many teams in the SEC have guys like that?

I agree overall, regardless of these two points, its no excuse for the Tigers Defense. But its still the first game of the season though.

Yea I have to admit UGA looked pretty bad yesterday.

But I'm a little hungover and was thinking about a good example.

In 2005, LSU played a game at Arizona State that had everyone in an uproar over the defense. Panic is not too strong a word to describe the reaction. LSU's defense looked bad in the Tennessee game shortly thereafter, esp. the 2d half, then made adjustments that turned it into one of the best defenses in the country for the rest of the year.

Moral of the story- it is too early to panic. Are there reasons to be concerned? Surely. But too early to panic. There are a lot of adjustments to be made. Let's hope that Chavis is as successful in making those adjustments as Pelini was.
