Well - let's assume we lose 5 games again, and get into a bowl game, and end up 8-5 - you would be in favor of firing a coach who is 50-16, holding the best winning percentage in school history, and where NO coach has ever won more than 48 games over any 5 year span, even if you took non-consecutive years (Mac looks pretty good if you take his 5 best years, 45-9-2, Saban finished 48-16, and Arnsparger was 26-8-2)?
(I want to see how high the crazy is turned up...)

yes
with the current status of LSU football, anything more than 3 losses in unacceptable
call me dumb, spoiled, whatever, but its a fact

Fair enough... I will.

LSU has elite facilities, elite talent, elite support, and an elite recruiting base
i dont see how people accept less than elite results on the field

So I ask you - would you have been for firing Saban after 2004, had he not already taken the job in Miami? Or after 2002?
Thanks...

no, because even in '04 we werent on the same level we are on now

Okay, right now LSU is undefeated. What "results" are we talking about?
Posted on 9/29/09 at 12:26 am to Ace Midnight
yea, youre right, we've played like an elite level team the last 2 seasons

You win - we played poorly in 2008. We played poorly @ Kentucky and against Arkansas in 2007. Doesn't winning fix everything? We're winning ugly, but winning. Would you people (Negatigers) prefer losing pretty to winning ugly? Or do you just want to lose to get a coach you like better?

youre not getting it though
this level of play will translate to 5-6 losses down the road against teams with equal or more talent. same thing last year, the 4-0 starts against poor competition obviously gave people false hope
am i happy we're winning and 4-0? absolutely. but i also understand that if we dont up our level of play drastically and soon that record will be much different
and if les cant fix these issues for a 2nd year in a row, whart gives you hope he can do it next year, or the year after?

you are the epitome of a ranter... you sound like a fricking spoiled child, if we fired CLM after this season we would be the laughing stock of college football just like you are the laughing stock of this board right now... get that fake punt bull shite outta here

i have a feeling we're about to be the laughing stock of CFB anyway after we have a losing SEC record, again
look, if you people want to live in your fantasy world and act like everything is just dandy, by all means. i, on the other hand, will live in reality.

im not living in a fantasy world by any means. but i know when success when i see it. i see the same team play as you do on saturdays, have i been pleased with the play? not entirely. but some of you people have become so damn spoiled that its embarassing. we are 4-0 and ranked 4th in the country and there is talk from our fanbase about firing our head coach who just happens to be the most succesful one we've ever had. ask usc or oklahoma if they would rather be knocking blocks off and be 3-1 or be sittin at #4 with a zero in the loss column. i pity some of you people....

5-6 losses?! Are you really that stupid? Miles takes over the play calling after the loss to Georgia like he did in '07 when he got fed up with his trick play coordinator (same guy by the way). They get away from this retarded Crowton Playstation Offense, Bobby Hebert, jr. loses his job at center, and someone with more than an 85 IQ takes over the line calls, Charles Scott runs for 1000 plus yards the last 7 games, Lee takes over at quarterback, Shepard gets the playing time he deserves, and we're Peach Bowl bound again... sorry, Chik-Fil-A Bowl. Miles is a stubborn SOB. See the light, Les. Make an adjustment.

you make it seem like striving for perfection is a flaw, i dont get it
and yea, 4-0 #4 in the country...same shite last year too. and what exactly has les down to make you think the same shite wont go down this year? seriously, anything, something?
if mediocrity and peach bowl births are ok with you, fine, more power to you. im not down with that though. and if you cant see mediocrity and peach bowl births on the horizon, youre either dumb or lying to yourself

i am not calling for a changing of the guard this year but if we have a near repeat of the goat frick we had last year which I think we will have one less loss, 2010 miles will have to win the SEC West or he is bye bye. Will be tough considering that Bama will be LOADED. It just frustrates me that we have comparable personnel to bama yet bama is a complete team. We are not.

and an entire state to ourselves and the 4 largest city 4 hours away. We are in the ideal spot to win championships. however the cool aid drinkers are satisfied with 4 losses a year, I am not.

Miles isn't going anywhere. He's here to stay. I say at least 7-10 years, unless Rodriguez really F's up at Michigan. Peach Bowl bound is a negative. We could get through the next two games unscathed and looking pretty with Jefferson, but he will slip up, probably against Auburn. But if he slips up and craps out Saturday, Lee/Shepard 75/25 should be considered. And if the crap out happens, it's on Crowton with that silly-arse offensive package system he runs.

50-16,
so a lil over 60% of the losses took place the last few years. Thats a downward spiral.

running up the middle?

I say at least 7-10 years
so if we continue with 4-5 losses a year, recruiting will inevitably drop off and we will slowly go to 6 losses. then revenue starts to fall, and season ticket sales drop. Thats a train wreck that as a season ticket holder and a lsu alum I would like to avoid.
