we never know what the hell miles is thinking. the man's logic usually escapes us all.
Probably you would want him to be a flaming arse hole like you and deny the kid a chance to play in the SEC. Yeah then you retards would be bitchin about that.
Or maybe just don't let the boy go anyplace, hold him in chains in the basement of Tiger Staduim so he can't play anywhere?
The I.Q. if most of you Miles bashers wouldn't even make a good shoe size.

Miles actually did a pretty honorable thing letting this kid go to where he wanted to go, after it didn't work out at LSU.
Dude makes some dumb calls, but I never have felt he lacks integrity. The man just let the kid go where he wanted to play. Same thing with Phelon Jones. In more ways than one, winning isn't everything with him.

Both. The letter went to Garrett's house, so he then turned around and asked for his release. Just because you arent awarded an extension on your scholly doesn't mean you can just go play somewhere else. CG had to ask to be released.
Released from what? LSU revoked (or didn't renew) the guy's scholarship. Can a school choose to not extend an athlete's scholarship/grant-in-aid, and then refuse to release them? That seems pretty screwed up to me.

Is Phelon going to start for Bama?

Looking like a back-up, I for one thought he had an edge but some of their younger guys according to Bama fans have stepped up their game.

If Miles says no what`s his position if the kid lawyers up and demands a "Garrett deal"?

Do you really understand what happened? The coaching staff sends 5 or so of these types of letters each year, to summarize they basically say that scholorships are on a year to year basis. It didn't say he was not going to get his scholorship renewed, the letters are meant to get players motivated who are not and if they don't get motivated then maybe they need to re-think their position on the team. Garrett decided to re-think his position.
I think Garrett was done last year when Miles told him he needed to prepare to be the starter and Garrett replied he was not ready and needed more time. I think that showed Miles he didn't have the fire and then after the spring he decided to try this type of motivation. Personally I don't have issue at all with it, if what my reports say are accurate.

I know it's hard for most of you to grasp, but Miles cares about what is best for the kids he is coaching. Where some coaches that do need to be named Nick Saban cares only about there inflated arse egos.

Do you really understand what happened?
Question:
So wait....So did Miles send a letter to his house telling the kid his scholly wasn't going to be renewed or did Garrett ask for a release?

Why would Miles let Garrett go to his second choice and possibly set a precedent that will come back and bite his arse?
Maybe because he considers the well-being of the student-athlete.
Maybe so that when he walks into a recruit's living room, he can tell them with a straight face that he wants what's best for the recruit. Even if that means letting him go to a rival school if he's not working out with LSU.
