JL gave the other team 42 points (with point afters) in 2008.

I think it was about the O-line in 2009.

Theres no way there was the same quality O-line play when JL played to get 8 sacks and JJ played and got 30 something. No way all of those are on JJ. Sure some of them are for holding on too long but no way all are on him.

Why does Lee get a pass for his poor play in the past, but Jefferson doesn't?

I was the biggest advocate for Jefferson from day one.. but the stagnant offense last season along with the sacks were far more painful to watch than an occasional pick 6 every game..

I think JJ has been given ample opportunity to take control of the team and the starting QB position and hasn't done it. I say we forgive both of their bad play have the best player win the position in fall camp be it JJ or JL. Is that such a crazy suggestion?

He statistically outperformed Jefferson in the three spring scrimmages in which statistics were taken. In the spring game, he was 10-for-20 for 114 yards and a touchdown while Jefferson struggled to an 8-for-23 day for 94 yards and an interception.

Combining the spring game with the two previous scrimmages, Lee was 30-for-59 for 359 yards with four touchdowns. Jefferson was 24-for-57 for 274 yards and one touchdown.
again; its not like Lee is setting the world on fire but what exactly has jefferson done to warrant a death grip on the starting job?

I personally think all this QB bullshite is pointless because its the o-line thats the problem....or was last year anyways.

Wow.

So you're saying the o-line wasn't a problem last season?

Jefferson was 24-for-57 for 274 yards and one touchdown. Over 3 scrimmages.

Well then you can't say that all those pick 6's were on JL.... someone could have made a tackle on some of those

You said THE problem chief. They are part of THE problem. Look at your quote again.

Miles and Crowton are THE problem.

Neither JJ or Lee can read a defense.

+1,000

And i think this is why people are considering JL again. It's a pick your poison deal, and to me JL only needs to improve on a few of those throws (not stare down the reciever) and his play greatly improves. As for JJ, he continues to have multiple downfalls (holding onto the ball, no accuracy on deep passes, etc.) that seem to slow an offense down more.

It's hard for your offense to have any confidence when you consistently get 3 and outs. Not like pick 6's are much better, but atleast you know you can move the ball.

This makes sense. Plus the repeated 3 and outs keep the defense on the field too long. To me, neither has stepped up. The starting job seems to be available to whichever young man who makes some improvement or is it Jeffeson's by default?

I always thought Lee was put in way too many 3rd and long situations as a freshman. I blame this on Miles not Lee. I still thought he was the better QB till the Tech game and I now wonder why in the hell didn't CG get a little more of a chance this spring. But maybe Lee is improving with more reps. As far as JJ, I don't think he has enough leadership skills to lead a SEC team. JJ always looks lost during crunch time or he looks like he is always complaining on the sidelines. I say give every QB an equal opportunity including CG and play the most talented one.

I agree, but I really don't want to throw another RS-FR to the wolves and have him become another headcase. Two is enough. Lee seems to do a little better in relief, so maybe some sort of rotation would be the best solution. Or dump the 5-wide, which is where both seem to have trouble.

I had the feeling Lee may never get over being thrown to the wolves so you maybe right about CG.
