Question about the QB situation at LSU.

To all those who know more than me, which is probably most of you:
What is the deal with the QBs?
Jennings, top rated QB. Rettig, top rated QB (both have looked bad). Jennings beat out Rivers, who transferred to another SEC team where he could start. And now a true freshman threatens Jennings and Rettig to start.
Top rated QB Bolden changes to WR. Top rated Duel threat QB Shep doesn't throw a pass at LSU (this one I somewhat understand).
Although Brandon Bergeron looks good, now they're taking a transfer from someone who had no chance to get a scholarship two years ago. Mett had a great year (thank God). Other than that, why does the QB situation continue to be so perplexing.

I really thought Rivers was the guy after Mett, was disappointed when he transferred.
And when has Rettig looked bad? He should have gotten a lot more playing time in the SG, because when he came in he immediately threw a couple of great passes.

With Cam running the offense, I think you're going to start seeing things differently. I'd say the offense last year was pretty different, as in not offensive. (See what I did there?)

I'm surprised that, with Cam running the show, Rettig isn't in the lead. It seems pretty clear that he's the most polished passer of the group.

Perplexing is strange, unpredictable.
I'm basically saying we have a lot of "high rated" QBs who come here and don't pan out. I didn't even bring up Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson.

My question is when will they name the starter? Will it be a week prior to the Wisc game? Or just wait till the first offensive snap of the game. Orrr.. Before then in the early fall?

Perhaps you should look a little further into Cam's past. To make it more clear, I'm referring you specifically to Cam coaching at Indiana and his use of Antwaan Randle El at QB.

Miles and CC will tinker/toy with the QBs to the last minute.
They're not going to announce the starter until close to the game in all likelihood.

He walked on, has no chance to see the field...just wants to wear the P&G.
As for Rettig being the most polished, you are probably correct as far as mechanics. However, everything I'm hearing is that his decision making is what is setting him back. In practice, he forces a lot of throws that aren't there or makes the right read but delivers the ball too late.

Dual threat QBs have not had much success in a pro style offense, with a few exceptions. Shep should have never been listed as a QB. He didn't throw a pass at LSU for a reason.
