Would you say Jefferson and Chase are a better duo so far than Landry and Beckham were in their last year?

They’re definitely more productive. Maybe more talented as well.

I have not seen legendary catches like Landry and Beckham but they certainly get separation and open more.

More productive but not as talented.

Not really Landry and Beckham’s fault. Put Jefferson and Chase in our previous scheme and see how they look.

You may be right, but I'm not sure. Chase is a phenomenal talent, and it remains to be seen how his career pans out. OBJ is a hell of a player with unbelievable talent, but Chase might be up there too.

As for Landry, he actually isn't that talented. That doesn't mean he isn't a good player (duh, he is), but he just isn't as talented. Look at how Jarvis compares to his peers athletically: LINK. Jefferson is not super talented either, but he probably has more talent than Landry does.

Either way, both duos are phenomenal. Also don't forget that it's actually a trio. Once Marshall is back, I'm taking that group all day.

I’m pretty sure I saw Landry split a triple team one time to make a catch. Those two in this offense would be completely unstoppable.

Jarvis Landry made some of the best catches I’ve ever seen in my life. If they had played in this offense, they would have been setting every record imaginable.

Really not a fair comparison as the offenses are like night and day. Explosive no matter which 2 are on the field.

it's sad that anyone thinks Jefferson and Chase are even close to what Landry and Beckham were in their last year. Not only were they naturally more talented, they were more experienced. But fans have such short memories at best.

No I totally agree that Beckham and Landry were more talented and experienced, it’s just hard to deny what those guys are doing right now

I’ve never seen more contested catches than what Landry came up with in college from week to week.

Relative to the teams they played on, not really. Beckham and Landry accounted for about 2/3rds of the teams receiving yards in 2013. Chase and Jefferson about half this season.

Other wise pretty close Comparing 2013 to this season.

Landry 15.5 YPC
Jefferson 16.8 YPC
Chase 19.3 YPC,
Beckham 19.5 YPC.

I’d have trouble choosing if I had to.

Landry is a phenomenal football player. That does not mean he is a phenomenal athlete. Shaq Barret has 9 sacks in the NFL right now, but he isn't a great athlete. He wins with technique, fundamentals, and football IQ. I don't think you understand my point.

I will say Jarvis and OBJ had a shite ton of drops in 2012. They weren’t super dependable until 2013, their last year here. The guys we have now are doing more earlier in their careers but may not have the jaw-dropping highlights. That should be just fine with all of us.

There is more to being an athlete than running fast and jumping high (which Jarvis can still do). His body control was/is second to none. His efficiency with his movement is elite. And he is incredibly strong for his size and build.

Hard to say, can you imagine Jarvis and OBJ in this offense with Burrow as their QB!
