It means if he doesnt make the team he doesnt get paid (outside of the time hes on the team).

Doesn't that mean if he doesn't make team he still does get paid just not everything he agreed to in the signing. Maybe half or a quarter.

I think it just means he gets paid for the preseason and then if he gets cut he doesnt get paid the rest of the contract. For some teams it may be more complicated than that if they have a D-league team, but I dont think Portland does so.... idk someone can correct me if im wrong

Yea I think so. Idk what happens to these guys tho if their squad doesnt have a D-league team, I guess go overseas.

I don't think it's even that much. the Hawks signed a rookie out of Michigan State to a deal that's like 50k guaranteed for summer league and camp. league minimum is around 500k I believe. good luck to TQ tho.

Blazers only have 13 guaranteed contracts as of now per Basketball Insiders salary overview so TQ could have a legit shot to make team (teams can carry 15 players during regular season). Will be curious to see how much is guaranteed but given summer league is over, my guess is he's getting a couple hundred thousand guaranteed for this year and rest of 1st year salary and all of 2nd year salary is team option. Regardless of $$, pretty good outcome for TQ as undrafted rookie.

Considering his stock when he came out, I guess that's a pretty good deal for him to at least get a chance to prove himself. That is about as good as a second round pick.

So non really guaranteed. Aren't all nba contracts guaranteed if you make the team?
