What is your definition of a true power forward?

Someone that is not scared to get in there and rebound and take the ball to the rim and can block shots. 6'8 - 6'9 range that is not scared to mix it up. It might be Victor, fact we best pray it is Victor because if not this team is not going to be much better than a .500 team.

What is your definition of a true power forward? Someone exactly like ben simmons but cannot dribble?

Simmons doesn't play defense. That's part of the equation to me.

But heck, he is being outcoached badly, mand does not have this team playing defense. We are awfully soft in the paint outside of Simmons.

Was at Houston game. Very sad how we get beat in man and never jump into anything else like a press or a zone defense. For lazy defenders like we are, we should be running a zone. That way we-re still giving up the 3, but were not having to communicate on switches or help defense and were going to be in the best position for rebound down low. Also prevents the dribble drives that we've been getting killed with all year.

Something tells me Victor is going to be the next Malcolm White -- a highly regarded transfer who puts up one good game out of 5.

Damian Jones: Vanderbilt Commodores Center is averaging 12 points per game and 7 rebounds a game. 7'0" 250lbs.

We'd be an insanely good team with those two. Undefeated and top 10.

Those two are EXACTLY what we need. Tall, rangy center and a super powerful PF who goes to battle in the paint for rebounds.

Blakney and Sampson's shooting ability was way over blown. Hornsby has been out the whole season and has shot the ball by far better than them both in one game

Blakeney is in a slump that he has to come out of soon. Same with Sampson IMO. Both showed flashes of greatness in the first few games.

This.

Blakeney is a proven shooter against elite competition and you can tell he's got incredible form and athleticism to get a shot off.

We REALLY need him to start clicking.

Is he not having a down year with those stats? Not exactly earth shattering stats. Would take in a heartbeat with that being said.

We rarely tried to get simmons the ball in the paint and when we did he would pass it out immediately. Houston did not play some kind of incredible zone to shut him down. He was shut down inside due to zero movement on offense, both inside and outside and due to unwillingness to be strong and score. I don't know if he is soft or what, but a player of his size has got to go up strong. No player of his size should have the mindset to pass first when he is around the goal. He had a play last night where he had an easy dunk but nearly lost control of it because for some reason he was going to dump it off to bridgewater. Wedo not need him to be just another guy who stands around the 3 point line for 25 seconds doing absolutely nothing.
You see the problem correctly. Simmons has to demand the ball and then go up with it next to the basket. He is either going to score or get fouled 70 to 80 percent of the time. I saw that dump off to Bridgewater several times which is just ridiculous. A 6'10" guy not taking the shot but giving it to a 6'5" player who gets it stuffed half the time.
