Tech recruits Louisiana, no doubt. But we lose a ton of players to places like Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Southern Miss, Houston, Texas A&M.
Take a look at this year's list of top recruits and you'll see what I'm talking about. We've got to keep these guys in state!

Come on! It is La Tech in the middle of nowhere, no airport(yes teams have to pass by ULM in Monroe to get to Ruston), and facilities that are worse than West Monroe High School's. Hell Tech only has ONE practice field and that is in the track, which is a joke as well.
Just like ULL fans, Tech fans THINK they are bigtime, but the fact of the matter is that Tech IS nothing more than a pumped up D 1-AA program.
Yet 8 points is all that seperates our penis from your penis.

Agreed - our state's being raided. Smart coaches know Louisiana has too much talent and LSU doesn't take full advantage. It looks like someone from A&M has done their homework long after Louisiana native R.C. Slocum left.

Yalls running back is the 2nd best we've played all season. I've been impressed everytime I've watched him play this season.
To say LSU is on the way down right now is juvenile, we have a very good chance at a top 5 finish (would be the 4th one in the last 5 years) as well as another top 5 recruiting class
The spread is going to make it way more possible for smaller schools to be successful IMO. Playmakers will get the ball in space and every program has a couple of playmakers.

Thanks. I wish he could've played more in the 2nd half. He's been banged-up for the past 4 weeks. I thought Duplessis did a nice job too though.

This sounds so 1998. Your OC pretty much invented the spread at La Tech. We have now resorted to a physical, run offense, that doesn't use WR's.

it was more of an excuse for yalls 3 wins this season, besides the injuries

Just think how good Tech could be if we could keep these guys! There is plenty of talent in Louisiana to support two Top 25 programs. But, we've got a long way to go to raise the kind of money necessary to bring these guys to Ruston. But that's the stated goal and we've made some strides in the last couple of years.

....and they might have won 15 games in the last 10 years....Maybe.....
Yea, probably true. But you got to count the close ones too.....cause that is what has everyone so damn worked up.

I remember seeing the spread in 1992 at the Louisiana State High School Championship. That school everyone loves to hate ran it. "John'' something or another. Didn't Shaun King then run it at Tulane when they went undefeated? Then, it ended up in West Virginia with R.R. This is what I remember anyway. Sound correct?

The first time I recall seeing the spread was in the 1980s at BYU under Lavell Edwards.

I think that's the Crowton connection.

and little town Ruston looks just like little town Auburn. If Tech for some unforseen reason sees itself in the SEC, then the state would slowly see itself split. North Louisiana people would start seeing themselves as Tech fans as opposed to LSU fans. Suddenly we have a large stadium filled with Tech fans who dispise the evil team from the south. Suddenly we are going after and even beating out LSU for recruits. All this sound familiar. It happens in Alabama. that is what would happen if LaTech found itself in the SEC. LSU's ultimate nightmare. So stop playing what if's. because LSU doesn't want to even think about what ifs.The only thing keeping LSU successful is that it doesn't have to share the top recruits in the state. Trust me you don't want Tech in the SEC, it would turn LSU into just another Mississippi school.

I think Louisiana Tech's time has past to join the SEC. I think if they would have came on board, it would have been with Arkansas instead of South Carolina. However, the SEC missed the chance. Just think about back in the day with Coach Barmore and those awesome Lady Techster basketball teams, P.J. Brown and Karl Malone. How exciting would have that been? Unless someone drops out of the SEC (Vanderbilt), I don't see another opportunity for expansion because 12 schools seem to be just enough. How strong is the Tech baseball, golf, soccer, volleyball, cross country and track and field programs? There's a lot more to the SEC than just football.
