JJ was good in '09. He got worse every year, though.
Other teams just had him and our gameplan which was simple for him figured out. IMO

JJ was a limited qb but so were other LSU qbs that people love( Flynn ). JJ's main problem( he had a few) was not keeping his eyes down field when the pocket broke down. If the pocket wasnt great JJ was gonna pull it down. You can't do that in the SEC with all the great dlineman. Even crappy defenses have a good dlineman.

Flynn and JRuss both lost two games. You're stupid.
You are the stupid one. Stats don't necessarily mean a great QB. I'll take a QB with not so great stats but can lead the team (MM is another ex) over a stat heavy guy that can't win championships.
Once again, where is JM now?

Not sure, but in 2006 he was in front of Matt Flynn.
Btw, love Flynn and would take him over JJ, JLee, Mett. Definitely takin him over Marcus Randall

I'm saying that if Flynn had played in O6, we probably would have won a championship that year as well. JR was a poor decision maker.

God LSU fans are dumb.
JRUSS threw LESS INTS than Flynn while tying the TD record for a season and setting the season completion percentage record. I hate our ignorant fan base. But yeah Flynn made better decisions. Like is said JJ played qb better in 09 than Flynn did in 07.

At least JL could complete a forward pass.
This is like arguing about whether horseshite or cowshit stinks worse though.

Exactly. Neither could be depended on to have a good game.

I don't recall Flynn looking like a deer in the headlights in the championship game like JJ did. I'm pretty sure Flynn never threw the ball into a teammates back.

"JJ in 2009 had a higher qb rating than Flynn in 07. Fact."
No, not a fact. JJ had a higher passer rating, not QB rating. That stat penalized JJ not a bit for taking numerous unnecessary sacks. A great running game certainly spurred the O in 2007 but Flynn did his part in the passing game, as well (and often had to so as the 2007 gave up a lot of points, especially late in the year).

JJ had 8 more sacks than Flynn in 09. Late in the year? You mean that 4 int Bama game? Same Bama team that lost to ULM.
ETA: Flynn had a worse completion% ,worse yards/attempt, and worse TD/int ration than JJ.

I'm ignoring you. You think Flynn is a better qb that JRuss was at LSU. Any "fan" that thinks that should be ignored. JRuss threw more TD , less int, set the school record for compl%, more yards and yet you think FLYNN MADE BETTER DECISIONS. Was it Flynn's more ints or Flynn's less accurate passing that brought you to this conclusion. And spare me the championship shite. BOTH QBS LOST TWO GAMES. Except Jruss's losses were to top 10 teams on the road and Flynn's were to unranked teams at home.(Arky)

"JJ had 8 more sacks than Flynn in 09."
So, it evidently is a "FACT" that JJ took more sacks and it is a very supportable opinion that many of them were unnecessary.
Additional "FACTS" are that Flynn was the triggerman for the most productive offense in school history and that no Flynn-led offense ever failed to score at least 27 points in regulation play (number is higher if you count the OT games but I won't because that really would be misleading).

It was 8 more sacks. Not some huge number. JJ had better TD/int , better completion% better passér rating. That 2007 offense was unstoppable because of the 3000 yards of rushing offense. Not some qb that had a worse passer rating than a qb we all agree wasn't good.

JJ's problem IMO was that he couldnt go through his progressions and get rid of the ball quick. If reciever A was covered I noticed he would start chopping his feet. When I saw that I knew right then the play was over.

Well I think if his pocket was good he would go through progressions. You can see this by having the 3rd receiver having catches and yards. When that pocket broke down , even a tiny bit, the play was over for JJ. Tuck and run. Just can't do that in the SEC.
