I think many in the sports media might use this as an excuse to drop LSU out of the Top 1 or 2 spots, but I don't believe they really believe it will make that much of a difference. And that's not to take away from TM's skills.

They almost always determine the order of finish among teams who perform equally in won-lost record.
And it would not make any difference if they waited until later in the season to come out with the polls. The Harris Poll doesn't come out until well into the season, yet in its first week, it is always almost identical to the AP and Coaches' polls for that week.

Pre season polls do matter, but not in LSU's case. Being number 3, when a team you play is number 1 or 2, is just as good as being ranked number 1. Everyone understands this.
All that said, I don't blame you for bumping the thread though, man. You did get bashed, and you were correct.
