Every team in the SEC tries to schedule their bye week right before Bama but LSU is the only one that also has to play Bama coming off their bye. If Saban ever perceives a team other than LSU as their biggest threat year in and year out and decides to move his bye week maybe LSU can catch Bama a little off like Auburn, Ole Miss and TA&M have in past years.

As I said LSU has the talent every season to go unbeaten or lose 1 game, 2 at the most. That's the level I'm talking about, they are a powerhouse program and have been for awhile now, but the coaching has not been up to the expectations that you need for talent like that. This is why they have been losing these games every year that they should win, and everyone on here knows that. You can see the talent every season and how they underachieve every season. NFL talent galore that only the other schools I mentioned matches.

And that's the problem with obsession that the fan base has with Bama. People act as if they'd rather beat Bama and have 4 losses vs Bama being the only loss.
Although true in some respects, Bama loses so seldom now that it is a major deal for your program to beat them because they don't exactly lose to scrubs anymore.
I will say this, if the NC is out of the question and you could choose beating Bama or having one or two less losses with one loss being to Bama, give me the W over Bama. I think it would mean more to the players and fans to beat them at this point. I would not want to be within a 100-mile radius of LSU fans if I was a Bama fan when LSU does finally beat them again.

I doubt I see it happen again in my lifetime unfortunately
Of course I would love to see it one more time before I pass but I just don’t think it will happen.

I'll take the better record. I think we should be worrying about beating Troy and Miss St before worrying about when we're gonna bear Bama.

This has nothing to do with pulling for LSU.

Jesus, man. Have a little faith. We're not talking about a national championship. We are talking beating an annual SEC opponent.

Can we worry about beating Miami? Who gives a flying frick about the Alabama game in April? I just can't understand this obsession.

Anyone on this board who doesn't say 2018 has lost the concept of what the normal role of pulling for a sports team should play in one's life IMHO. For me, the satisfaction of being right and the disappointment of falling short do not outweigh the fun of hoping and rooting for my team, even when we are underdogs.
I don't really disagree with any of this, and actually I think that is why many of us are so frustrated with what Joe Alleva has done to the LSU football program. Because the "fun of hoping and rooting for my team" is just not what it used to be.
For a long time, I considered LSU winning every single game to be within the realm of realistic possible outcomes (albeit way on the optimistic side). I just don't feel that way now. I still think that LSU has good talent and with a few favorable bounces the Tigers could beat any of the teams we play, but my diehard fan optimistic assessment of LSU's likelihood of beating all of them this year comes in at 0.0%. The magic is gone. That sucks, and I hate it, and I would love it if I had any sort of evidence that could make me feel otherwise.
If you had told me a few years ago that my answer to "Predict Future Year LSU Football Defeats Alabama?" would be anything other than "this year" I wouldn't have believed you.
Now?
2021, I guess.

3 years after Saban retires which will be about 8 years after O is fired.
