win their crappy conference

That's the thing though. We don't play in a crappy conference. You award a team for playing in a crappy conference and winning it (and/or the crappy conference tournament).

Pretty much any average BCS conference team is better than any 15-16 seed, year in and year out.

Automatic qualifiers are pretty dumb, but that's how they want to do it.

Yeah, it's pretty bad but, it's postseason, suck it up. Hopefully they have been preparing for the possibility.

I feel like if I were on the team I'd be jacked to playing in this game and exciting to play at a place like Oregon. It would be fun as hell I'd think to get a plane, fly to a random and nice place like that and play for your season on national TV. You defiantly take on an "us against the world" mentality.

It's only two hours, 8:30 BR and 6:30 their time. I'd hope the adrenaline would make up for any jet lag. IDK how these things work but maybe fly up there Tuesday.

I'm exciting they're playing post season. It gives the team more experience, especially more tourney experience.

This and knowing the end game is NYC at the Garden...it's a lot for these kids to get up for and excited about.

BCS conference schools shouldn't even be eligible for this "special needs" tournament.

If these kids couldn't get up and excited about finishing the regular season with a chance to break into the big dance, then why the hell would this excite them? FYI, I'm not blaming the failure of this team on the players, this debacle of a program falls squarely on TJ's shoulders...and JA's too if he doesn't recognize it and do something about it soon.

Did you see how LSU played on the road against an average Arkansas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Auburn this season?

Yes, unlike most I saw all the SEC road games.

I was hoping we would come out and perform like we did against USC. :fingerscrossed:

Jd, booked or not there's no way we would host anyway. NIT would go somewhere where they could put butts in the seats.

That's what happens when you are competing to be #69

so what would LSU be ranked right now?

6th seed in the NIT would make LSU around #92 ish in the nation huh?

Is the NIT really any worse than going to the Peach Bowl?

Over 300 D1 basketball schools, less than 100 post-season spots.

Less than 120 D1 Football schools, more than 60 postseason spots.

Let's do the math here folks.

Its sitll a comparatively shitty bowl compared to where LSU should be similar to how the NIT is a shite tournament when compared to where LSU should be. If we end up in a bowl like the Peach or worse I'm generally not all that excited...

Here are the real #s:

Football - 2 in postseason for championship...rest of the Bowl games are meaningless
Basketball - 68 in postseason for championship...rest (nit, cbi, cit) are meaningless
