If you are a highschool talent and LSU recruits you on the basis of increased chance for NFL money, once you are in sight of that goal why even risk putting it all on the line?

Fournette
Guice
Arden Key

We basically get, at most, 2 years out of our talent.

We need to bring on the kids, and high star talent that want to be at LSU in a system that demands excellence for the sake of being excellent. NOT for the sake of striking Gold because they then become worthless to us...Like Arden Key's sorry performance.

So your solution to better players is not bringing in good players???

Doesn't work that way. Kids choose the program that will take them to the next level.

Ash Williams you lack critical thinking. That's not what I said.

I said the program can't recruit and promise NFL dreams. The program should recruit by going into living rooms and keep the language of NFL out of the conversations.

If we recruited Arden Key by saying "come to LSU, you'll prob go to NFL" well now that he is in sight of his goal he has met his mandate and no longer invested back in program.

But if we instead approach talent by saying "come to LSU where we demand excellence at all times and will teach and train you to demand it of yourself" then I think that is a longer solution to just one of our many problems.

You don't mention the NFL in home visits? Do you think the kids don't already know it is there? Every damn one thinks he is a sure fire bet for the NFL.
