Everytime jones is back there, he always has to fair catch. I from what Ive seens jones is pretty damn good.

But PP is great with the ball in his hands. He could play wr on this team easy, he might be the most explosive return guy on the team behind TH.

Agree with Staggs. To be a good returner you need to be a great open field runner more than anything. Would you put Jones and Peterson in that category? Not as likely

Smaller, shiftier guys with great vision in the open field are what you need. Just look at Brandon James at Florida. He isn't big enough to make an impact among their playmakers on offense. But he is a tremendous open field runner. Bamas Arenas was similar, while never a great offensive athlete (played D).

I wish they would give Jon Williams or Ron Brooks a shot at punt returns.

And whoever had Keiland Williams returning kicks needs to be karate chopped in the neck bone. Just play him at RB please.

I would just put who ever is best back there.

Like The Doc said, hes a man amongst boys.

And I dont think anyone has seen enought of jones getting a chance to return it, to say he cant get it done.

The SEC is full of gunners that can chop down Jones and it has shown..he doesn't get many yards. He's in there strictly because he has great hands and lessens the turnover risk when making fair catches (which is what he does 90% of the time)

He's just not compact enough to have the ability to be effective in tight spaces, which is what you need to make the immediate first cuts to get into the open. He's a helluva athlete for his size, don't get me wrong. Just not ideal for that job.

I know you were talking about pp but in the second sentence I was talking about jones, imo he could be very good.

as the season progressed he was only back there for punts that were probable to land inside the 20. TH was mainly effective because no one would punt to him, or they would sky punt.

My question is this. I know K. Shep was moved to the Mike spot when H. Coleman was moved to backer from safety. The depth chart has Cutrera starting at Mike even though K. Shep has a year of starting in the SEC under his belt. Can someone explain this one to me.

Cutera has experience as well but in the middle - while K.S. has experience it is on the outside - still time for this to all change

I thought K. Shep was absolutely terrible last year and was one of weakest players, hopefully he doesn't start and gets even stronger and more experience in backup role

Niether are superstars, but I wouldn't start Cutrera over Sheppard for anything. Shep is a much better LB. Cutrera has some strength but is never in position to use it...he's just simply not a very good player

all of our LBs sucked last year...and most of the entire defense, for that matter (although I think Riley and Shep were Butkus finalists ...what a joke that was)

point is that on a team full of average LBs, Cutrera is probably the worst and has the least potential
