Yeah we know, beating a dead horse. But look at this quote

quote:

When it comes to the position that LSU most needs to improve in 2015, there is only one reasonable choice.

Sure, we could discuss the wide receivers or the pass rush off the edge, but if the Tigers are to contend in the SEC West, they have to perform better at quarterback.

I don't seem to agree that we have an issue when it comes to wide recievers, In fact I think we have some of the most talented in the League. And if they mean lack of produciton that is obviously a direct result of quarterback play.

So you've analyzed the playbook and dissected/critiqued the routes that each receiver has run? How about the targets-drops?

Our wide receivers are ridiculously talented. They are maybe the best group that we have had that I can remember, and we haven't exactly been hurting at wr the last 15 years or so. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Do you have Alzheimer's? Ok just kidding, I think we are stacked at receiver but in 2011 we had Rueben Randle, Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry. I would take that group over this one every single time.

Our WR's had a heavy case of the drops last season. The optimist in me thinks that they just weren't accustomed to getting the football.

well there were more than a handfull of time the passes hit the receiver's hands this season that were incomplete.

Bunch of hacks throwing shite at the wall and hoping something sticks. I don't go to their website nor watch their channel unless a game is on.

We just put 2 awesome receivers in the NFL. Our receivers were young (minus Dural) and had atrocious QB play.

It's closer than you think. Last year, most of the talent were first year starters. We were young. Expect some growing into the positions. Next year they add Tyron Johnson to the mix. It hasn't translated to production yet, but we have more from a pure potential standpoint right now.

Dural, Dupre, Quinn, Diarse, and Johnson is ridiculous. It's stacked if we can only get a qb to get them the ball.

Landry and Beckham had a heavy case of the drops in 2012 but that didn't affect them in 2013. I believe QB's and WR's have to build a rhythm. Completing 48% is hard to build a rhythm.

"2014 was the low-water mark. The Tigers had the worst passing offense in the SEC (162.9 yards per game) and ranked 114th nationally. There were times when they struggled to complete even simple passes .... "

Jennings is one of the worse QBs in the entire country.

Dural and Dupre are terrible route runners. Dural was very inconsistent. Dupre ran the wrong route several times.

Dupre is still too skinny and gets bumped off his routes a lot. Quinn has a drops problem. Dural doesn't battle for the football like a true #1 WR does, and slips entirely too much on his routes, and his hands are inconsistent. Diarse can be invisible at times however he might be the best of the bunch ATM if he got more play time.

Talented for sure from an athleticism standpoint, but they have a lot of work to do.

Agree completely Datbayoubengal on the WRs, clearly QBs didn't help, but the WRs didn't help the QBs either. Remember coming into last year all WRs returning had 8 total catches. They all should get better and they clearly have talent. The QBs were still the main problem in the passing game last year, but the WRs have to get better as well.

They should do better simply from the natural progression with experience. I'm expecting them to be good next year and scary in two years.

Its obviously the QB situation. Did you really need that repeated?

I agree with this 100% The QBs where obviously the worst part, but people need to stop if they think the WRs were even good. They may have been serviceable AT BEST.

An improved QB (please let it be Harris) and WRs with a year of experience, should make the passing game take a huge step.
