Yeah, something else is going on. When 4 games into the season coaches are talking about "simplifying", you have a stupidity problem. When you have a d linemen in a 3 technique and guard and tackle free release, that's pathetic, very basic assignment and the 2 of you can't perform an elementary block. When running to the right, guard and tackle double him until lb goes left (Guard disengages and takes lb) and if lb takes path to the right (tackle disengages and takes lb). When you both free release you don't have a basic understanding of your job. Better go get players that are fundamentally sound over a guy who's ultra athletic but doesn't have great techniques and coaching foundation (that would be perfect scenario).
