To not put Bama-Auburn-Georgia in the same pod also
So, that ends "The Third Saturday in October" (Alabama-Tennessee) and/or The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party (Florida-Georgia).
Whatever they end up doing, I don't see the pod you are describing happening.

To not put Texas and Texas A&M in the same pod is ridiculous
Gave my reasoning above:

I have higher longer term expectations for TX.
I believe it's better for conference competitiveness if MO and AR have as much exposure in TX as possible for recruiting purposes. Not that I expect them to start taking high 4 and 5 stars right away, but there is plenty of talent going to remaining big 12 schools that they should be able to attract.
I like having having a permanent TX opponent in order to have access more access to TX than the rest of the power teams in the conference, and Aggie is the only practical option.
Most important, nobody should "put" Aggie with TX; they should choose to be with them. If they want to be there, certainly let them join. All these other it would be crazy not to put them together pairs like AU/AL, OM/MSU, or GA/FL, well those teams want to be together. Nobody has to "put" them together. Let Aggie choose.
I've pointed out some of the benefits, and it probably doesn't cost the conference anything to do it. In many of the proposed scheduling options, they are going to be playing every other year anyway. And at the moment, the TAMU/LSU game probably has more regional and national appeal.

Of the possibilities that I’ve seen, the 3-2-2-2 would be the best IMHO.
- Bild the Quads (divisions, regions, pods – whatever) to maintain as many rivalries as possessable. Not all rivalries can be maintained – suck it up and drive on – cash those checks!
- Every team plays every other SEC team in two years, home and home with every team at least every four years. ESPN gets a much more interesting regular season to fill the football season. Let the Aggies decide if they want the horns every-year, or every-other year (they got screwed by bringing in another instate school, against gentleman’s agreement not too (money talks and BS (gentlemen’s agreement) walks).
The old rivalries that are not maintained become every-other year rivalries.
- Let the hate build! --- IT JUST MEANS MORE!
I’ve been here for a long time, very low post count – because of reasons.
