My guess would be he's on normal rest and the difference between Kentucky's top 2 guys is negligible. He's also proven more adaptable to changes in routine than Lange has been.
I also assume this is an indication that Mainieri doesn't think weather will be a factor today. That may be commonly known, but I haven't been obsessively looking at the weather in Lexington.

Sometimes starting a junk ball pitcher in the first game can help setup the other pitchers.
