Need more free seats to watch them choke?
Why you mad? If you think finishing 2nd in the country to an undefeated team who put up a score that was higher than any score in LSU history is choking, then fine. But news flash, it isn't. They didn't hit in finals like they did in semis but they still put up a very high score that was right on with their average for the season. They wouldn't have won even if they repeated their night 1 performance. That wasn't a choke job. 2015 was a choke job. LSU has consistently improved the last decade with that one glaring exception. Gymnastics IS better than basketball and it isn't even debatable. Do they bring in the money? No, and unless college gymnastics becomes a big thing for television they never will. But the results speak for themselves.

I think we should condense it until there is a consistent need for more seats
Sounds like we're using someone else's money. My kind of thinking.

Why didn't you post pictures of Allen Field house, the Dean Dome or Rupp? Students sit on the baseline there. Students did not go to games until midway through the season in even the best years of the past 20. Fair weather to describe our students is putting it way too nicely. Now LSU sells out those mid-court seats and puts a surcharge on every seat. The media however needs to be moved to the upper level. It is ridiculous that those guys take up an entire lower section just to play on the internet during games.

God I hope so

I've been a season ticket holder since 1998. IMO -the movement of the student section has killed the atmosphere more than anything. I've sat through many losing seasons, but at least could depend on good student involvement and entertainment from that section to keep me interested. Now it's just a row of misfits in banana suits and the like. The rest of the students are too embarrassed to sit near them. I also think the band needs to be moved up (above the scoreboard) to free up more courtside seating for students.

This is a definite. I've seen pics and design info. 36 feet long and concave design to main court sides.

it really isn't. if you are over 6'0 your knees barely fit behind the seat in front of you. there is no stadium club/suites. so they need to space the rows out better, change the angle of the seating, add a club level. add a few suites, move the press,

Gymnastics can sell it out. Basketball will be vacated in less than 10 years = NO INTEREST AT ALL.

Will make a huge difference IMO

So Alleva brought up that the PMAC is too big and should be condensed.
Would love for them to reconfigure the seats to get them closer to the court, especially the student section.
If that means decreasing capacity by 1k or so I'm all for it.

I don't think he wants to permanently remove seats, but when's the last time we filled that arena for a bball game?
People have such a short memory... We sold out a couple games two years ago... It's not like it's been decades or something... We had a bad year and the fans didnt show up. The year before we had multiple sellouts.

2 Years ago, many games were sold out, or nearly sold out. If we get top 25 teams in, especially UK, easily filled up to the rafters when we have a possibility of winning. There was no hope of that last year, so empty stadium. Just win baby

We sold out 2 years ago bc we had a generational player come through the program. Hell, we didn't even win that year, but the expectation was so high that people showed up. We aren't getting Ben Simmons, Lebron James, or Kobe to walk through those doors anytime soon. Not to mention the national media attention that accompanied him.
Before that, we probably didn't sell out since Big Baby was playing with a highly competitive team.

Restructure it to have wider seats with more leg room everywhere and add premium seating (Suites or Club).
This is the same problem as football. It is way more comfortable in a lazy-boy, with easy access to bathroom and kitchen, and a big screen HDTV.
You have to change things so you can compete. While you will never compete with the Lazy-boy, the atmosphere back when we won regularly can not be matched in your home.
More comfort where possible and winning will solve things. Lets face it, right now the football team will have to pay for these changes.

That's bullshite, the two years of Mickey & Martin had the PMAC at over 75% capacity for the season

1. The students were moved behind the goal because, in part, they simply left MOST of their prime seats vacant for almost every game. Leave them where they are but get rid of that ridiculous press section and give the students those seats as well. I actually would like students at BOTH ends, maybe just the lower sections of the end opposite of where they are now.
2. Creating prime seating will NOT make the PMAC an intimidating place to play. CONSISTENT WINNING will make the PMAC an intimidating place to play.
3. I like the idea of gutting the whole interior and creating an updated arena with maybe 12K capacity.
