I wouldn’t say the “players of old” are tougher at playing through injuries.

Playing second base with a broken thumb? Batting or pitching with an injured back? “Players of old” did not play with these injuries.

Yeah I agree they didn’t play with these injuries. Although Warren Morris did play with a bone spur or whatever in his hand. Heck he couldn’t even swing the bat, just bunt but he played oh yeah how did that turn out in the CWS that year

If this is true that was a long bunt.

This is so overblown. In the CWS, he had an RBI double in game one, went 2 for 4 in game 2, and 3 for 4 in the championship game with that home run. He may have only been able to bunt his first game back but that wasn't the case by the time the regionals started. I believe he batted over .400 in the NCAAT in 1996. Regardless, he missed 42 games with that injury. It's not as if he just toughed it out with a broken hand.

Nick Webre had that run in with the tarp,

seems like we get at least one of these weird injuries every year.

stepped on a ball, stepped on a glove, fell out of a truck , fell with a glass bottle in hand, ran into a tarp
