I don't disagree at all...but do programs like Wisconsin not play on TV? Sections hollering "EAT shite!! frick YOU!" back and forth at each other would be a LITTLE easier to decipher on TV than STTDB. Hell...I know what's being said and when I go back and watch games I recorded it's hard to hear it.

It is simply not physically possible for everyone to clap in time with the band because everyone hears the beat at different times in the stadium.
Exactly...it's a physics issue. If the OP wants to fix this, explain that everyone should clap when they SEE band members' feet hit the ground, not when they HEAR the drum rimshot. Problem solved.

After re-reading through this thread, I have come to believe there is a fundamental difference in what students vs non-students think their role is at Tiger Stadium. I don't think the role of the student body at a football game is to demonstrate to the TV world what polite and upstanding citizens our young people are, and I think many of you feel it is; that the students should be on their best behavior as they would for a guest lecturer or something similar. I think their role is to fire up the players; to show their unwavering support of the team, especially in times of difficulty. Will them to win. STTD doesn't seem so terrible to me, although at my age I would never participate in the chant.
I will say, however, that those guys with the crosses painted on their chest do an awesome job of representing how to have a blast at a game, cheer madly for your team, and follow Christian principles - all at the same time. Hope they recruit more of them in the stands.

I think the Wisconsin students do this before the game when they are just kinda waiting for it to start.
On a side note, how can anyone possibly think that is remotely cool or decent? I wonder how it got started and why. What a bunch of losers.

Student section is not as intimidating or as loud as it used to be. But then again, that's the case with almost every other school too.
They won't do what you ask them to, so it's not worth asking them.
Another generation will come in and hopefully get their act together and the good traditions will pick back up again.

And a few thousand uphold this. Many of the rest are there just long enough to get some Facebook selfies going then they roll out.

Let the students be. The songs and chants played in Tiger Stadium get the players pumped to play. You must of not seen the dramatic turn around in Houston first hand. Students were going nuts, the elders in the crowd were sitting there pouting because we were down. Students are the ones who bring the team back from a slump.

5. Slow Down on the LSU chants and clapping - I am talking about pace not quantity. When I was a student, the clapping during the band's pregame was on point and synchronized well. Now it gets way too fast way too quick and ruins it
The ENTIRE stadium needs to take a lesson on this point.
The rest of your points can STTDB

Corso adn Big Pappi, said the F word loud and clear on TV. People laughed at Corso and cheered Pappi; when the TV inadvertenly catches a player in the heat of the moment shouting the F word, there isn't a TV meltdown. People curse in today's society...a lot...
