Perhaps LSU is part of the University of LA system, and having those schools within the system play each other, helps all the schools.

It's an honor for an in-state football team to play in Tiger Stadium. Most of our kids dreamed of playing in Tiger Stadium. Most of our players know LSU's players. Skip Bertman is a class act for scheduling these games. I hope they will continue.

I'm saying that there is no advantage to playing ANY lower tier school except for an easy win. You really think playing Rice and SMU is going to land you any extra recruits? Maybe but I doubt it. An impressive win over an impressive school will do more to help recruiting than playing a weaker school.

That being said, why shouldn't LSU pay Tech to come to town and help out a fellow state school as opposed to somewhere out of state?

Exactly. And if every few years you guys make it a close game, then we all have the pleasure of watching some of the Rant's less stable fans flail and cry. It is a win - win.

LSU recruits Texas, Florida, Mississippi, and plenty of other areas where a smaller school coming into tiger stadium could help gain exposure. I like the idea of playing UNC next year in Atlanta. There is no doubt though that a lot of out of town season ticket holders see Tulane, Tech, ULL, etc. on the schedule and choose to attend other games.

What's wrong with helping in state schools? I like them more than out of state schools? Are you a season ticket holder with a grudge for all things LA except LSU?
