Sometimes cleaning up and kicking arse stings a little at first. They will get over it the same way the 2000/2001 team got over it.

From everything I've read, Craig was never fully invested in LSU and if that's the case, how can you sell the program to recruits. There is a difference between giving your all to the program and then entertaining outside interest if it comes.

Next, it was mentioned Craig was not working well with the staff. See his tenure at Auburn. If he was going to conflict with Canada's coaching then he has to go.

Finally, despite having highly regarded WRs, their performance was lacking. Too many drops, limited separation, poor routes . . . I know QB play was not great, but the WRs did not help.

The timing was as good as it could be. It didn't upset the recruiting cycle, players have time to process it and new coaches will be in place by the time training starts.

Everything we know at this point is we will get coaches that can recruit AND coach.

Can't argue with that logic.

Most of these coaches are being evaluated based on who they sign. If you don't evaluate them after signing day, when do you do it?

So why lead the kids on that the coaches will be there.

The once they sign them fire tge coach.

It looks bad in a knee-jerk sort of way, but what would be the appropriate amount of time to pass? If he'd waited one week like Les did with Ball last year? Maybe he should've waited till just before spring practice started, but that could've been contemptuous to the players, too. Maybe he should've waited till the end of spring practice, but that also could've upset the players. Maybe he should've waited till summer, but that could hurt all the summer camps and recruiting. Ad infinitum

Or maybe O could have told the recruits the truth that he was gonna let a few coaches go.

That's not a CEO issue, that's the established standard across the board.

TIFWIW.......Craig was gone after signing day, no matter what. A certain player was told this as early as pre-bowl game.
