With Crowton, you can rest assured that play calling will change throughout the year. Just look at the last two years here.

Our problem is execution. We lost our O-line and we have no depth there. Result- we are not getting a push up the middle to allow Scott to run like he did last year in the first half of the season. That is a personel problem, not a coaching problem.

Last night we ran all kinds of looks and plays, yet we all seem to focus on what did not work.

Runs up the middle were cut down to short gains and Jefferson had a few throws that were off just a touch. That will improve, as he has good arm strength.

The question is..Will our O-line improve and allow us to run Scott more and to protect Jefferson in the pocket?

From an offensive standpoint, I think the whole season comes down to how the O-line improves.

but tell me he can't be an asset to our team with his athletic ability

He already is an asset to out team. Just not as a starting Quarterback right now.

Yes in doses he will be nearly unstoppable...but you have to realize he is a freshman and isnt even close to knowing the entire playbook which means If he played consistently our offense would become limited and one dimensional

do you think we should be sold on charles scott? the first two games this year ive seen keiland with a lot more athletic ability and quickness than scott shown since he has been here. I think they both can be used and real positive forces for our offense. I just think we're taking a lot away from keilands ability bc charles scott is so good(which i think he is)

TMON i agree, but doesn't he deserve more than 3 touches? even though he is a freshman?

Scott compared himself to Hester last night.

I woun't be surprised if we see more of Scott at FB and Keiland at TB like we did last night.

The loss of Quinn Johnson is hurting Scott the most right now

They are easing him into the offense which is great in my opinion...he will see a lot more playing time next week

Really good post. I agree on every front. Play calling is good, but execution is not quite good. And the line is a big part of it. They aren't opening big holes for the running game like last 2 years. And they don't give JJ a whole lot of time to set up and pass. In turn, JJ is getting a little panicky after 2 seconds in the pocket (arguably because he knows that's about all he'll get). If the line can tighten up, it will do more for the overall effectiveness of the offense than anything else.
