This whole thing reeks of the LIV-PGA Tour situation. That turned out to be a manifestation of a beef between Greg Norman and Jay Monihan. Their egos wouldn't allow them to come to do anything sensible.
Something tells me this is a personal beef between Kiff and Sankey. Why else would Sankey be so hellbent on going after LSU when he has looked the other way for every other similar situation with other SEC schools?
I get that he may not like Kiffin, but simply not liking someone is a poor excuse for wasting members' money on lawsuits that he has to know will lose. Not only that, but if LSU gets kicked out, they will lose out on all of LSU's contribution to the revenue sharing, which would be substantial.
LSU is in a pretty strong postion. Should we get kicked out, another conference will come calling quickly - most likely the Big XII, imho.
