That statement is as ridiculous as it is wrong.
Forget the other 15 or so players that started as freshmen; Caden Durham.

BK does it by seniority. So Mathieu would've have had to sit too .
He started two true freshman at offensive tackle in the SEC the second he got to campus

We get it, Kelly has his faults… But the whole narrative he doesn’t play underclassmen is dumb. You can name countless true freshman that have played here under BK. Look at last years defense, we were playing almost entirely freshman and sophomores in the back half of the season.

People see an older white guy in Brian Kelly so they just assume he's an old school, conservative coach who isn't aggressive and doesn't play freshman.
In reality he runs a spread style offense, is extremely aggressive in both going for it and receiving the ball first, and has played the following true freshman a shite ton in his first three seasons
2022 (small class):
1. Will Campbell
2. Emory Jones
3. Mason Taylor
4. Harold Perkins
5. Demario Tolan
2023:
1. Toviano
2. Womack
3. Yaites
4. Stamps
5. Weeks
6. Jackson
2024:
1. Green
2. Durham
3. Reliford
4. Breaux
5. McKinley
6. Keys
7. Spears
8. Woodland
I'm sure there are others I'm leaving out.

You’re a dumbass too. All you have to do is read all of the responding posts showing all of the players who have recently played as freshman. Your lazy dumb arse couldn’t even do that.

I’m pretty sure PJ woodland got a good bit of reps in the USC game last year too
Also pretty sure Spears started at least once, and we all know got a good bit of PT through the season.
