I’m not sure Baskerville is ready. We may be starting a true freshman like Sampah.

It will be Baskerville. Why exactly do you not think he’s ready?...

Because he was a highly recruited player who’s been practicing with the team getting experience for multiple years now? How else is this supposed to work?

Starks and Sampah may have something to say.

He wasn’t highly recruited

All our players practice with the team, some for multiple years Nd hardly see the field

In this case we have really no other option but to play him

Doesn’t mean he’s ready

He got picked on pretty badly in whichever game this year it was he had to play a lot. I can’t recall
Who we played but I remember him being run and thrown on and the announcers talking about him.

Brooks will probably take Stevens role if I were putting money on it.

Clark and Baskerville will definitely be starters. Thornton, Starks, Anthony, Moore, and Cherry will all compete for a starting position. Sampah, White, Webb, and Ojulari are all freshmen that could push for serious playing time too.

Brooks is more of a pass rushing close to the line player like Stevens. Simmons was far better dropping into coverage so that really aren’t comparable players. I’d compare Simmons more to Patrick Queen who I think will be a much better pro than college player. He is only getting better.

They were saying Brooks would be like Delpit when he was being recruited.

Because he hasn't played well at any point thus far in backup roles.

Cherry is a DE now. All those guys besides Clark, Baskerville and Starks are OLB. Kendall McCallum really screwed up leaving he would be good in the Phillips thumper role. Sampah and White have a real opportunity at early playing time next year.

I believe he led the team in tackles when we played UF last year (11 tckls) when he was forced to start. He struggled some, but was very active and I thought did well for a first start.

He was a 4-star, top 300 recruit in the 247 Composite and played in the Army All American game. He was all about LSU, though, and committed his junior year of HS.

Games played:
2018: 8
2019: 12

In his one start last year vs. Florida, he lead the team with 11 tackles.
