After Fulmer lost his last BCS bowl game (1999), he remained NINE (9) more years. Wanna know how those 9 years went?

2 losing seasons
2 seasons without a bowl
4 bowl losses, vs only 3 wins
4 years without being ranked
4 years ranked outside the top 10
1 year, ONE out of 9 ranked in the Top 10!
0 ZERO BCS bowl appearances, NONE! Not one

I guess there are different ways of looking at the same situation:
Tenn:

2001: 11-2-0
SEC - East Division Champions

2002: 8-5

2003: 10-3-0
SEC - Eastern Division Co-Champions

2004: 10-3-0
SEC - East Division Champions

2005: 5-6

2006: 9-4

2007: 10-4-0
SEC - Eastern Division Co-Champions

2008: 5-7

07, 04, 03, 01 and possibly 06, aren't bad seasons. I guess it depends on what the yardstick is.

Everyone has their ups and downs but ousting someone for one bad season seems counterproductive to me.
