I don't understand why some of you think that he was the reason that Peyton didn't come here. Cutcliffe wasn't at LSU. Regardless of what the recruiting sites might have said, we never had a shot.

Honestly, Cutcliffe could have been at LSU, neither would have come. LSU was not on either's short list. Archie is an Ole Miss grad and grew up despising the Tigers. As a gentleman, he does not profess it publicly.

I'll bet Olivia would have been thrilled to death if any of her sons attended LSU.

You're probably right. Archie was obviously not an LSU fan and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that his kids weren't either.

Some dude that used to play QB and hates LSU because he played for Ole Miss. That's all I know about him other than he has some sons that play QB too.

Peyton went to Tennessee because of David Cutcliffe--the same reason Eli went to Ole Miss
there is a lot of truth to this.

It wasn't like archie was the next best thing to bread while he was in college and the NFL.

I have no idea why Peyton went to UT

He could escape Archie's shadow without thumbing his nose at. It's pretty easy to figure out, actually.
No. He went to Tennessee because Ole Miss was on probation, and Tennessee was not scheduled to play LSU or Ole Miss in the 4 years he was going to be in school there.

The Peyton family is a class act. With all the negativity over the years with new orleans, they have brought some pride and respect back to the city.

I agree. There is a lot of hate from some LSU fans about Peyton and Eli not coming to LSU but the Mannings are indeed a class act. I love LSU and college football but I would never give someone shite for choosing to go elsewhere.
