Mississippi State played better offensively than they have all year.
Yeah, because we can't figure out how to cover the back out of the backfield.

Ahhh, the old theory of the amt of points you give up equals how good your defense is. I suppose an offense that turns the ball over and special teams coverage that has break downs has nothing to do with any of it, right?

Yeah, because we can't figure out how to cover the back out of the backfield.
No one who has watched Mississippi State this year can possibly argue that the game would have looked the same if Wesley Carrol had played.

Forget about that shite. Keep an eye on the back out of the backfield. If we can't cover we will be exposed.

Uh, ok...am I missing the joke?

I know that you didn't mean to direct that to me, but the other guy...
I worry about the fact that the water main in my frontyard busted and I just discovered that tonight, and have to get that fixed tomorrow or my bill is going to be skyhigh. I also worry that the sales pipeline at work needs to get loaded up to boost 2nd quarter numbers.
LSU football is the very last thing I worry about.

The joke is...our ability to cover the back out of the backfield. MSU was very successfull running this particular play.
I think that's what makes this dude think our defense is run by Tepper. Tepper's D could not make in game adjustments to stop the same play from happening over and over again.
Posted on 9/29/08 at 9:08 pm to MOSSMAN
Gotta call bs on this. Tepper didn't run that much man his whole career. And his drop LB would never have gotten beat like Riley did on the wheel route. He woulda been too far back on his drop.

Nice try

Your missing the point. It doesn't matter what the defense is. Tepper could not stop a play once it was successfull. Ie, the TE in the seam. Over and over again. He just couldn't do it. Couldn't make the in game adjustment.
On saturday we could not stop the back out of the backfield. Just couldn't. I don't even think we made an adjustment. I think this is what reminded the original poster of tepper.

Actually, giving up all those points to Auburn is more disturbing. Remember, that powerhouse Moo State held Auburn to a field goal. Weak arse Tennessee held Auburn to 14. I think Les will figure it out and fix it, but we have not met a good offensive team yet. We will on October 11!

auburn self-destructed in that game with unforced errors they didn't make against LSU...you can't compare games, too many variables

quote:NO WAY.....Not even close. Tepper's defense allowed too much of a cushion off the LOS. Tepper's defense never could stop a 3rd and long when LSU's defense was fortunate to be in that situation. Tepper would never adjust, just kept on with the same scheme quarter after quarter, game after game. My bad, he did change up the scheme vs Miss St in which LSU looked impressive, but scrapped it altogether afterwards...
Peveto + Mallory = Tepper

Saban's D had trouble with this also.

It was a huge problem the ENTIRE year we won the NC.

Tepper's D was also full of guys like Thomas Dunson, Jamal Hill, Robert Davis, Demetrius Hookfin, Clarence Lenton, Charles Smith, and a host of others who wouldn't sniff playing time on this team.
