Not just a football genius, but a true genius.

I believe it was Einstein who described genius as not so much the ability to recognize and formulate better than others but the ability to do it faster.

I won't even get into his pass defending where he cuts off angles, tips the ball to himself, etc...

Just observe Peterson on punt and kick returns... instant spatial analysis... immediate lane recognition... no wasted motion in eluding objects. Congrats to the football coach who recognized his genius.

I'm just curious to know when the staff realized he was a great returner? He shows great vision, speed, and agility. To Peterson

What I liked most about his genius was when he got burned and wanted a flag.

And yet he sat on the sidelines the first 2 years. Guess our coaches didn't think he was as good as Holliday and Jones.

i guess it probably is not OK to actually give his coaches any credit. those poor guys get no credit at all for anything. peterson indeed is one great player and yes, there are some things you just can't c0oach.

There are no limits to his genius. He knew that getting beat on a perfect pass was a theoretical impossibility, and he could sell the "crime" to the officials.

He definitely didn't get burned, it was one hell of a throw and an even better catch on a very well covered receiver

also, if Hatcher doesn't push the MSU defender (because Perterson had already beaten him by cutting inside) from behind he scores on another punt return.

Nope, BURNED. A genius would have turned their head and stuck a hand in. Instead he falls down and starts whinning for a flag. Hell maybe the genius should have been flagged.

He was pretty pissed at himself on that first punt that he fair caught. After he caught it he realized how much space he had.

This.

Peterson is an awesome cornerback (maybe the best DB in the country), but I think some fans have to understand that it doesn't mean that he will never give up any catches. The offense is at a tremendous advantage. A good throw and a good route will beat good coverage most times, even on the great ones.

He's gonna give up some catches...even some touchdowns. But if they keep throwing his way, eventually somebody is gonna do something less than perfect (or maybe PP will simply diagnose and jump the route), and he will make them pay.
