I seem to remember a 2-loss team that came in through the back door in 2007. Hard to be objective, isn't it?

Neither do I. The build up would be insufferable. And if by some miracle, they won that game, we'd have to shut this site down.

not being in is worse for them

Right. Making the playoffs is still a big accomplishment.

Being out of the top 4 hurts them more long term

frick that redo!!!

44-16 put and end to "special" rules for Bama

Bama is no longer the 800 pound gorilla.

Bama... Take your loss to LSU. Go back to the drawing board. Get better next year.

Shows how great our defense really was considering that AL has played NOBODY, doesn't it?

I'm sure you think you're making some kind of point here.

I do NOT want to play Bama twice. Not out of fear, I just don't think they're deserving. It's like the Rams last year in the Superbowl.

That said, if we do play them in the MCFP, I have no doubt we'd whip their arse and THAT would put an official end to the Saban era at Bama. Sure, he might stay a few more years. Whatever. But, the mystique and fear would be gone forever and we'd own his old, shriveled, whiny, exhausted white arse until he quit. It would be glorious. But, I also don't think they deserve the chance.

And that was with a punt return for 7 of their points.

For me beating them gets the Roll Tide people to STFU for a year. I don't want any scenario that lets them open their mouths until next November. RTWFU has deep meaning for me. It's my new mantra.

Agree, it's too hard to beat an opponent twice in one season, too much revenge factor . Look at the Falcons & Saints, no way Falcons beat Saints next time, or Texas vs Oklahoma. Sooner won second time around when it mattered most. When Les Miles said in 2011 he would (LSU) be honored to play Bama again I said at the time that was the stupidest thing he ever said & unfortunately I was right. If Bama gets in again I hope coach O has something special for those lucky basturds.

Losing triple overtime & double overtime & still winning your conference is totally different & Not winning your conference. Bama just has to win their conference div & sec Championship & it's not happening. Can't change the goalposts cause it's N Saban. Abide by the rules ncaa committee.

Although I get the unfairness in the thought of it, it would be the most glorious program take down ever to beat them twice. Their melt would be beyond description. I relish that possibility.

only problem with that is when the undeserving teams gets a lot of help from the refs or just gets lucky and wins and then they once again undeserved go ahead of the team then werent qualified to get a rematch with

thats the biggest issue, it removes the value of beating them if you have to win twice and they just need to win the last one of those games

If they are one of the top 4 teams; then they deserve a spot.

I wonder if they would seed it so we play them in the semi-finals, or seed it to avoid a repeat game until the finals. Does the committee have leeway there?

They couldn't win their own division.

Them still being in the discussion means LSU is that good? If that is the point the committee is making, LSU better be 1 from here on out.
For the record, I'm of the mindset that if you cant' win your own division, you shouldn't get in.

If they somehow get in, they will be the 4th seed and we would have to face them in the playoff semifinal, provided we keep the top spot. If they were to win, then everything we accomplished this season would be swept under the rug by the media. They will invalidate our win in Tuscaloosa and say that Bama won the game that mattered, and that they were always the better team. It would be a repeat of 1/9/12. It could also have negative consequences on recruiting, because that's all anyone will remember.
