re: People at the bash, what was the mood like when Miles trashed Kiel?

I have no problem with Les trying to get the fans excited about Liggins as a QB prospect for LSU, I wasn't there, but it seems pretty obvious that the "chest" comment is probably a reference to Liggins's size at QB. This was probably Miles's intro to announcing Liggins as part of the class.
Also, this was a recruiting bash for LSU fans, who cares if Miles talks shite about a recruit that went elsewhere? I wouldn't care if Saban talked shite about our recruits. It will piss ND fans off and people will think sour grapes, but obviously Miles feels Kiel didn't come down becasue he couldn't handle the pressure of being away from home. If he can't handle that, how can you expect him to lead an elite CFB team. I assure you the pressure at QB at LSU is much higher than the pressure of QB at ND.
No problem with this at all. I wish it wouldn't be out there, becasue it gives ammo to the anti-Miles group, but it will be forgotten in a week.

I don't think he was ever committed and the National Championship game definitely didn't help things. It has nothing to do w/him not having "the chest" to lead a program. Let's see.. if my boy is a good QB who THROWS the football and I've just watched LSU refuse to throw the ball in the National Championship game.. I think we are going to re-consider this thing. And, the school he went to is a lot closer to Momma and home.

It's pretty obvious it's his way of calling Kiel soft, which doesn't offend me at all.

He shouldn't have said it and id willing to bet he didn't know it was on tape.

Playing at ND, he isn't scared of competition.
ND is a graveyard of highly touted QB's that never realize their potential.
They've won one bowl game in like 20 years. They've lost by 3 TD's to every BCS caliber opponent they've faced.
This kid has F-L-O-P written across his forehead. Going to ND was only the nail in the coffin. You think that high school all star game was a fluke?
I'm sure Vegas would entertain your thoughts on his level of success.

ND not playing in a NC has nothing to do with being afraid of competition. ND always plays a rigid schedule.
He is probably better off there than LSU. Had he signed, he would have had buyers remorse soon due to being away from family.

Can anyone make out what he said after he said he didn't have the ability to lead a program. Sounded like one sentence.

So much for Miles being "All Class"

Agreed, and kids like that share a lot of similar characteristics with ones that win SEC championships at the QB position, huh?
Kiel is soft. His actions proved it. And I firmly believe his LSU commitment was nothing more than leverage. Indiana didn't carry much leverage. The kid has mega-doubt in his mind, that will cripple him come serious competition time.
JMO. And I'm definitely pissed about Patrick Miller in all of this.

Like Cam Newton who played at three schools in his college career?
You have no idea what kind of character any of these kids have. Don't pretend you do.

I think you are right.

second video: interview with holly rowe.
Damn you people need to settle down.
Miles said that we got a "big chested QB" in Liggins and that the guy that backed out costing us a very good OT did not have the "chest".
I salute Les Miles. Kiel screwed us.
ESPN made abig deal how Miles "screwed" Elliot Porter (who is now on the team) out of a scholly 2 years ago but now he is not supposed to be pissed when a recruit screwes him.
So it is wrong for a coach to back out from a player but ok when the player does it to the coach. frick that.

considering there are hundreds of people taping it and it's recorded every year, I'll take that bet

I'm not offended. I just wish he wouldn't say shite about kids that will effect our recruiting. We just lost the top 3 in our state. He shouldn't be saying some kid doesn't have the ability to lead a program.
Some people...some freakin people man.
First people bitch that "Les Miles OWES US X, Y, and Z explanations!"
Then when he actually gets up and says something more definitive (even when he doesn't have to) people bitch about what he says!
Some people will just never be pleased...and your agenda IS showing.

With that kind of response, what's left to talk about on a message board in regards to recruiting?
No shite, I could be dead wrong.
I should rather question Miles' character. He is obviously much more flawed than Kiel. Wouldn't know commitment if it bit him in the arse, would he?
Cam Newton? Is this a "chest" comparison we're making? With Cam Newton? If there's one thing that kid has going for him, it's being comfortable in his own skin.
While you're at it, why don't you give me your thoughts on Kiel and Tebow. I'm sure Tebow and Kiel have similar "chests".

You're right. You've made me see the light. I'm glad it's all over ESPN.
