Field conditions will give certain teams advantages, look at the Saints and their last three games at Chicago in the cold. That's no excuse though, that's the teams fault for not being able to play in those conditions. It wasn't that the Bears play amazing in the cold it's that the Saints play like shite. Penn State doesn't play well with a field like that, it's an advantge for them because LSU plays like shite in those conditions.

has it ever occured to you that maybe the bears were just better than the Saints in those years?

They also had home field advantage, which was not a factor in the Cap 1 bowl.

not a very good comparison

i'm not saying field conditions are never a factor. just that in this instance, it wasn't the determining factor.

that, as many of people here are saying/thinking, if you put this game on turf or in a dome LSU still wasn't going to win b/c the field didn't stop us from doing anything we could have done. lsu couldn't run the ball all year, lsu couldn't rush the passer all year, lsu had below average qb play all year, lsu had inconsistent wr play all year, lsu (at times) struggled alot on 3rd downs on both sides of the ball.....that was not done to lsu by the field conditions, that is who they were this year

It became primarily a ground/ball control game (with the exception of the lone TD pass by PSU), which was clearly to Penn State's advantage.

they're a spread option/spread team. how was it to tehir advantage?

Thank you.

Jeeze. We are not, nor have we been, a power running team for like 5 years. Get rid of that stupid 3-yards and a cloud of dust preconception.

Its a sad day when all we have are excuses for LSU's losses.........Maybe if we reason long enough we will come away with a moral victory.
