Ahhh...so you would reward the merits but just not guaranteed money for poor productivity. Gotcha. I agree. I have heard the argument that he shouldn't be paid a bunch more just because he said it was his dream job and thought that's what you meant. I have no problem at all with your idea. My bad.

The bonus thing is fine, but the problems start because schools who want yhst coach offer more. In this case if school A wants the coach, they offer more than school B is paying.
