Well 10 years ago Deion was retired and Patrick Peterson was probably 11, so I doubt either would have been in high demand.

At least PP would have more of an upside.

Thats soooooooo witty. DId you think of that all on your own?

I meant Deon in his prime! But of course people turn to sarcasm in an effort to avoid the obvious.

If PP blew out a knee in training camp, he would not go down in history as one of the greatest NFL corners of all time! SO therefore, why would ANYONE try to say he is better at anything in the NFL than Deon Sanders was?

It is just moronic that he isn't drafted yet and some are saying he is a better corner than one of the greatest in the history of the NFL!

I know, I think there was one guy though. But why are we all being judged by what one person said?

I think that is a stretch. I'm assuming you are rating each player after their final college season and before the pros. If we are talking about a pure cover corner, Yes. If we are looking at overall skills, you can't ignore the piss-poor talking ability (or should I say whiffing ability) of Sanders. I'd bet there would be a few that would prefer PP over Sanders.

In that respect, I think PP is a better overall corner.

I’m going to put a list together of people who think is comparison is even remotely non-idiotic so I know never to take anything they say seriously. The fact that not only do you think it’s a comparison, but that you believe Peterson is a better corner literally hurts my head.

I love how there is some myth that QB's never threw to Deion's side of the field. They used to love running screen passes to his side of the field.

No, teams didn’t “love” throwing anything to Deion’s side.

Based on what? Man you guys just get out of your minds over LSU athletes sometimes. There isn't a professional football player alive or announcer or sports writer that would take PP over Deon (10 yrs ago)!! NOT ONE!

Based on watching Deion Sanders being a complete liability in run support to every NFL team he played for.

By that same logic, it's pretty dumb to say he isn't better than Deion... because we really have no idea how good he will be yet.

Oh, that's right. They were scared to death of Deion fighting off a WR's block and then blowing up a wedge of O-Lineman. Damn, what was I thinking?

They were scared of him falling to the ground then grabbing for shoelaces. Which, I mean, he had good hands, so maybe it worked better than we recall? I'd like to see what ole Neon would've done against Trent Richardson.

If I have to lock down a receiver one on one for an entire game then I want Deion. I believe Deion was the best pure cover corner of all time. He also was a part of championship teams. PP's career in my opinion will more closely mirror Rod Woodsen than Deion. PP will have problems as he ages with his weight. Guys like Champ Bailey and Deion are at a major advantage having a leaner more linear frame. This makes for longevity. PP is gonna have to lose weight or move to safety later in his career.

Did Sanders play all four years of college? Can't seem to find that info, although I would assume he didn't.

For all the people who have Deion's jizz on their chin it should be known that for all his talent he was still a punk-arse-bitch when it came to hitting people or being hit. He was fast, and he was flashy, but by his sixth year in the league his speed was gone and his dominance was finished. If you don't like contact you don't belong in the NFL.

Maybe you should take a few aspirin and re-read my post? ........and while you are at it....put a list together of who thinks Deion is an exceptional tackler and a list of who thinks PP has poor coverage skills and tell us which is the shorter of what would be 2 very short lists.

Deon was a huge bitch and not only that, it seemed like the few times he had to make a tackle he'd limp off the field whining. Dude had no toughness and always seemed to get minor injuries trying to be tough. Greatest cover CB ever? Yes. But CBs have more responsibilities, especially in the league now. Also, PP can't use his physical ability to the fullest in the NFL these days now that they bitched down the rules with chucking at the line. It would be interesting to see the comparison of PP/Deon if they came out at the same time because PP would be able to use his physical ability more in that time. Rules are different now, being a 220 CB isn't the advantage it use to be.

I think Charles Woodson or Champ Bailey is a better comparison to PP.

How 'bout this one?

I was just going back and watching some R. Woodson highlights. Those Steeler uni's made him look like he was 250 lbs.

I think everybody is talking about Charles Woodson. Rod Woodson was a safety for the Steelers.

Both have been mentioned throughout.

Rod started as a corner.
