What does him being gay have anything to do with anything?

He's a softball coach, so it's not like he's in the manliest of professions.

Don't ask me. I wasn't the one saying it. Just stating what Bama fans around the office where saying. I couldn't care less if someone is gay or not.

Yeah, I wasn't really directing it to you. Just thinking out loud.

Gotcha. Like I said it was Bama fans. They were probably just shocked that a dude would rather have sex with his brother than with his sister. Mind farked'em.

I wouldn't be surprised if LSU offers her the job

I would.

If they were talking to the likes of Candrea and Murphy, then wound up with Habetz...it would not look good.

Not saying that she's a bad coach, or that she will not be a great HC, but LSU seems to be looking for someone who's proven.

If they are looking to go the assistant route, then Robert Wagner from ASU needs a look

And the Arizona coach was supposedly offered $300k and turned it down

True, Who do you think they'll go after? Obviously it's not Candrea or Murphy now.

Maybe somebody connected with Bama is blackmailing him, and threatening to "out" him publicly.

You'd prolly have to get above 500k for Candrea to THINK about leaving UA.

Could you imagine the fit the Rant would have if we offered a softball coach that much money?

Rummy, unless something emerges where Aleva promised something to Murphy then backed out or in someway did something that lead to him backing out on the job. I can't see how it reflects negatively on Aleva. What will thou is if he fails to come up with a great hire after this mess.

FWIW I am not a fan of Aleva.

When you're talking women's athletics not many people are going to blink if somebody comes out of the closet.

the Arizona Board of Regents on Thursday approved a contract that takes Candrea through the 2013 season.

“I feel like I never worked a day in my life,” Candrea said. “I found something I love to do. But I never look too much in the future.

“I still enjoy the process. The day that I get up and I don’t, that will be it.”

The new contract, which runs from Jan. 1, 2009, through June 30, 2013, has a base salary of $115,000 per year, plus incentives for academic and athletic achievement.

His former base salary was $101,459.

I have to disagree with this. Its one thing to be in the closet and everyone knows and its just not publicly spoken of. Its a whole different story for it to be put out for the public.
