Not mad, just think its crazy that nothing has been done. You would think they would have built a walking bridge or something when building the new Box.
You're not kidding. Didn't someone actually get killed a few years ago while trying to cross Nicholson Drive after leaving the Old Alex Box Stadium after a game? People should use the Hayfield lot, but the reality is that enough people are still going to try to cross Nicholson, making it a hazard...

First off, that CEBA lot is for CEBA, not the Box. If you want to be a lazy arse and park close to the stadium, but not in the appropriate spot then you have no right to bitch about it.
Park on the other side of Nicholson and the tracks and your walk will get much easier.

I agree. It's amazing you build a stadium and just forget to provide a reasonable way to walk to it. Two years ago I brought my toddler at the time, didn't stay the whole game and realized you needed to play frogger to get across the road. Another Louisiana planning success story. It was apparently unreasonable to assume one could cross the road in not peak times.

Someone was hit by a car, but I don't recall that they were killed. And the "crosstie bridge" across the ditch is there where some people started using it just because it was there.

Again, LSU encourages parking on the old golf course 9 in between the school of coast and environment and gourrier.
What they ask you to do is walk to the corner of Nicholson and Burbank where two LSUPD officers are directing traffic.

More like another lazy-arse story. It is apparently unreasonable to walk a fraction of the distance further on paved and lit sidewalks than risk your life and make your fat wittwle feeties go a few extwa steps to the bawwpawk.

I wonered the same thing last week when I came in for the Tulane game. I thought an underground tunnel would be badass for the fans to go through.

It would be ideal though to have a huge pedestrian/bike bridge. Would help for football, baseball and make bike access for students in brighside/tigerland going to campus via bike a lot easier.

Ok, I'll give you that. But I did that trek a lot and they have the crosswalks in place for that. For light traffic. And pedestrians that know how to obey crosswalk signage.

Why you people are so militant is beyond me? Why would we not want to make as many parking areas as possible accessible to the stadium? Also, what about visiting fans who may not know where to park and they enter from across Nicholson... imagine the impression that leaves. Its not a major issue, but all we're saying is its a questionable move by LSU and you have to go all militant on us and claim everyone is fat.

That map isnt consistent with the parking sign on Burbank.

"BOOM!"
ETA: This is more of a mocking of the "Boom" than anything else.

Because it's the exact opposite side of the issue you are taking. If it was approached as a legitimate concern in a professional manner, it'd probably responded with a similar tone. But since the author went on the offensive, and people followed, then why is it so bad that the opponents to the OPs views are embellishing to the same degree.
All that we're saying is there is ample safer parking that's for Alex Box. If you like a convenient walk, take it, just stick to the crosswalks. No sense in getting hurt or muddy to save a couple hundred feet. The CEBA lot is for CEBA patrons, not Alex Box.
