That's not what you said at all.

Don't fricking hedge now, either admit you're a moron or go all in on your take.

Had to throw off his knees bc he had to get rid of it quick as possible. The LSU pitchers kick their leg too high allowing the runners to get a killer jump.

This response was spot on. If you watched Hess pitch last night, his leg kick was way too high/slow. Pap had no other option than to get the ball out quickly while on his knees.

Pap was a highly recruited defensive catcher. Am I missing something?

Yes. You are missing a lot

Pap isn't an "obvious big league talent". Who are you talking about?

Ty Ross was thought to have MLB talent defensively. He was an average to below average hitter in college. He was drafted in the 12th round. No hitting isn't as important as a catcher; however, you cannot be a bad hitter at the college level and expect to be drafted high. Pap is, in no way, an obvious MLB talent

Obviously, no outfielders were drafted in the first 11 rounds, right?

Pap is a junior, maybe he will come back for all of his fans on tRant...
Very good catcher, hitting is actually looking better these last 2 weeks...guess he texted A.C. for some insight...

Yeah obviously teams value a bullpen catcher more so than a guy that's a borderline 5 tool player

In the first round last year from colleges 4 outfielders were taken and 3 catchers.

Diechmann is an outstanding ball player. Papierski is absolutely big league talent.

IMHO there are more outfielders with Diechmann talent proportionally than there are catchers with Papierski talent. (Did you see that right fielder USC had? Rooker at MSU?)

Micah Gibbs was a better catcher than Papierski...

He's not a big league talent. Many of the catchers in the "big leagues" weren't catchers in college.

Deichmann can hit a ball 115 mph off the bat. That is way more rare than what Pap can do defensively.

How many 115 mph home runs did Deichmann have before January? How many since?

It's not a surprise that Deichmann has done a ton for his draft stock this year. Pap hasn't. Your link isn't helping your argument. It's hurting it.

People knock Papierski as a hitter, which I can understand even though he has been hitting better, but his defense behind the plate has NEVER been the issue.

That's just not true. He was benched last year partially because of his bad defense.
