Why can't the students get their act together and chant "Eers, you suck dick" when the Tiger Band plays the first four notes in pregame? Do it every time they play those four notes to the different sections of the stadium.
Next week, sing "Vols, you suck dick" and so on.
The university will jump on the bandwagon and will change those items they sell with the four notes on them. The new version will have 3 notes + a little phallus.

I was at the game and heard "you suck cock". That is vulgar. I'll admit that it was a minority of the students, but you could still clearly hear it.
My point still stands. Keep going against LSU and we'll end up with piped in Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, and Justin Bieber...congrats.

Exactly. I've always loved LSU, plenty of family graduated from here and I've had classes here as well. (Graduated elsewhere, however).
One of the things that has always been a knock on the TB outside of LSU has been the lack of a setlist that was pertinent for game situations....and its been that way for years.
Before I duck, I've got a band card.
In relation to the cheer....that's just stupid. I've heard worse from student sections on TV. Don't blame the students for being loud and obnoxious, that's kind of what TS is all about isn't it? God knows I don't want to be sitting with 93K Gpaws with hands in laps waving a mini LSU flag on first downs. Ugh.

I'm not a prude, but you suck cock is offensive to plenty of people. Go by George Carlin's list to be safe....those words need to be left out of chants that can be heard by everyone. The school will step in every time, and again we ALL lose.
Since they have all the power you can't win...there are other battles with the school to be fought. This one isn't worth it plus it's not winnable.
There simply has to be something more creative than "you suck cock" plus still offensive to the opposing team.

When it comes to things like controlling the band? Yeah they do.
Show me a student body willing to start a fight over OweO...my guess is they won't. This isn't a hot button issue. I admit if it became one it could get very interesting.

dude pay attention to who we were playing. the gamecocks. it actually made sense. the gamecocks use the word cocks in their chants. besides we only did the you suck cocks during that one game and stick to "you suck" every other time.

I admitted that in a previous post, but I heard it last week and I don't sit close to the student section. Maybe it's because the stadium was so damn quiet...that sucked too. I don't know, but my ears weren't deceiving me.

really? well they suck. It really is stupid that people do that. I draw the line at you suck, I know :csb:, but seriously, why "you suck cock." that's just stupid. If LSU comes out and says that "you suck cock" is the reason, than anyone that does it should be burned at the stake. That's absolutely freaking ridiculous.
Yea, the student is pretty quiet and pathetic. Also, it seems like 3/4 of the students need to sit down between plays and timeouts. Unbelieveable. I still am for LSU overselling student seats, then the first 12,000 or however many students come in, then they get the seats. I want real fans in. I hate people who are angry that people actually stand up the whole time. I guarantee that 25% of the student section knows 0 about LSU football. It's pathetic, and I'm ashamed sometimes that those people call themselves fans.

Of course they won't, that's not the point. Don't start putting words in my mouth. I also agree it's not a hot button issue.
there are a couple of things that really kind of disgust me though as far as hearing "you suck" crystal clear through TV broadcasts.
1. The student section WAS TS last weekend. Went to the game, and the rest of the crowd was absolutely WEAK. If we had some fans that got into it, maybe you don't hear "you suck" crystal clear.
2. You're going to hear something "queer" said if you're at the stadium today, and it most likely will come from the drunken college section. What do you do then hmmm?
You can only do so much to police thousands of drunk college kids to "watch their mouths." This just isn't possible. Besides, college kids have never really been known to conform really well.
