Cresse (offense) + Lanier (defense) = Gibbs.. Where is the joke?
Its kind of a joke to say Gibbs and Cresse's offensive production are equal. Other than hitting for similar average, Gibbs trails Cresse by a WHOPPING 22 HRs and 52 RBIs when comparing their best season.

so I'm not sure why anyone would even jokingly say that Gibbs could be a spawn of Cresse and Lanier

What do you people not understand??

Good Batter + Good Defensive catcher = Gibbs

ALA Gibbs is a good batter and a good defensive catcher.. you know ALL AROUND

Gibbs will finish with 23 homers and 53 RBI to surge ahead of Cresse

That would be a hell of a way to finish.
