any chance Collins could play safety. he's been in the system for 4 years now. white, robinson, mills, Collins would be beastly. Thomas is also a very good and underrated nickel.

the middle of our defense is suspect. both dts, mlb, 1 safety. we can (don't know if we will) upgrade mlb and 1 safety giving us a top defense.

Look guys, we haven't even faced a real QB and offensive passing threat to say the least!!!

Let things play out first before crowning these guys, I mean we CERTAINLY are talented in the secondary, but to say we are lock down & legit after going up against a "horrible" Wisconsin passing attack is a bit much.

Just saying...

It isn't like we were playing an FCS school.
We are this weekend, and I bet they are much much more successful in the passing game than Wisconsin. That is no comment on the quality of our DBs, just a comment on how utterly atrocious Wisconsin's QB was as a passer.

too bad these guys couldn't have helped out their brethren on offense on 1/9.

Yes the DBs had great games against a team with limited QB and WR play. No doubt they have talent and I agree SHSU will test them more fortunately they have little on defense.

Unfortunately, they are the only position group that we can brag about at this point.

Mills looks like an all-american

Maybe in pass coverage, but he looked like shite when he had to come up to stop the run.

Gordon's first touchdown was caused by Martins terrible angle.

That being said, Collins looked great and Tre White looked like a first rounder.

Mills and White had really big games.

Collins looked great, and was big in run support.
Martin was a little over eager, but not too bad.

He could throw the ball, just his receivers couldn't get open, directly correlating to the secondary.

I think they played pretty good against a predominately slow running team. There is talent back there, but until we see them against a team that can throw the ball effectively, the jury is still out...I am just glad we didn't run up against aTm in the season opener...SHSU throws the ball a lot, so we will get to see how they do against a fun n gun offense that doesn't hudde very often...Our front 5-7 better learn to put pressure on the QB to help out their brothers on the backside...Once again, as the season progresses, I feel like we can have a very dominating secondary, one that will allow the safeties to play like LB's in the box...they will need to when da red gumps come to town...

They haven't really been tested yet.
Truth- This board can't handle it. I think we have the potential to be very good, but considering the opponent and the fact that it was one game.. lets not crown them GOAT just yet. We sound like Aggie fans up in here.
