I must admit that I missed his first pass, and you may be right on the money.
But, I can tell you unequivocably that most of his next 19 passes were not on the money.

I wonder if they are sending a message to JJ that they are sick of trying to catch his shitty throws. May be Lee has been putting them on the money in practice.

On that same token, what about the passes that were actually caught. If we can complain about non-catches on the garbage passes, we should be able to complain about garbage throws on the ones that were caught.
The best throw all night was by Lee on his only opportunity.
But why do I even bother. Everyone knows this.

maybe one or two passes could have been caught. but even with that being said, they were horrible passes. Toward the end of the game, RS looked pretty pissed after one of the bad passes he was thrown.

Kinda makes me wonder if JJ needs glasses? hmmmm dont know just a thought

from Jefferson. Sure, JJ had a bad game but at least 5 or 6 of his incompletions hit our receivers where they could have caught it. They ought to know by now that he only throws a perfect throw every now and then. I expect more out of our receivers. Great receivers catch balls that are hard to catch.
How many of the 8 that he did complete, were thrown 5 yds to a receiver meant to get the ball in open space and then make something happen, but were thrown behind them only to be a 5 yard gain. This is a weak thread.

Couple of thoughts here. The Int. in the endzone intended for TTolliver was at least 5 yds. underthrown. He had beaten his defender so badly, there was no way he could reverse his body to even break up the pass.
2nd, if JJ does not become more accurate with his passing, the receivers are going to start quitting on their routes, knowing there is no way the ball is com g their way, much less in a catchable fashion. You are starting to see this with his second and third options, 'cause they know he can't progress past the primary.
If they don't fix this quick, this talented group of skilled players are gonna start quitting on this offensive staff. It happened JL's frosh year, and we all know the outcome of that debacle.

Also, if JJ keeps throwing the ball like this, he's gonna get his receivers killed. Part of the "look" from Shep probably had to do with JJ constantly putting Shep in a position where he is open to a big hit. He's doing his receivers no favors.

Watch the replay tonight and you will see what your drinking did to your eyes last night. They weren't horribly thrown balls and more than a few were catchable.
And more than a few left a lot to be desired!....just saying....

The player guarding him was 6 inches shorter...put it up, and Tolliver goes and gets it....????

the very first pass JJ threw was very catchable
No it wasn't. Neither was his second pass, or third pass. It was his fourth pass that was caught & decent. He hit his fifth & sixth great.
Missed bad with the seventh & his eighth was almost picked. His ninth was a great defensive play which looked like it should of been caught until you see it in slow mo. HIs tenth was a throw away & his eleventh was uncatchable. The twelveth pass was the only DROPPED PASS OF THE FIRST HALF, & it did not matter since it was for five yards & it was 2nd & 28 for a 1st.
JJ did not have 5 or 6 dropped passes in the 1st half only one. Watched every play in slow mo & normal speed. Some that in normal looked maybe catchable were not really. The receiver touched the ball but were not even close to being able to catch it.

Not sure it would have mattered, many of those would have been for little to no yardage.

I saw a few drops but also there were a bunch of passes that the WR's were lucky to even touch the ball because they were so off the mark. JJ throws an ugly ball and his accuracy has gotten worse and worse.

It was a bad game. I don't have a big problem with his accuracy, its usually his throwing short of the marker that bothers me the most. I think he received too much credit before the vandy game, and too much blame after. He was way off Saturday, usually he is fairly accurate but makes poor choices of where to throw in 3rd down situations and needs an extra second, or more than most quality QB's. His development seems to be somewhat arrested, but I think that is more on the staff than on him, IMO.

FOR JJ! I know all about how Vanderbilt is the worse in the SEC.
The offense looked better than in the UNC game. Go back and watch the tape.... Who made the block for Ridley in that huge TD run? Williford.

Agreed to a point. He has potential but..... man. After last night's game. He's trying too hard. Like someone else said, the WR's are getting pissed at him. Rest this kid before a big thing happens that you may not be able to recover from. (COACHES)
Also, when I saw him in, almost immediately when I saw his number, he gets a flag. Good ol T-Bob. I know this has nothing to do the with subject of this thread, I just find it funny that very little has been said about it.

I do. He does not hit the receivers in stride and basically our wr's are not getting any yards after the catch. JJ's passes are low, behind the receiver, and I agree with La Birdman, we need to park JJ on the bench and let him clear his head or he is going to implode from putting too much pressure on himself and he is losing the confidence of his team members. JJ never has been that accurate but he does have games that are better than others and that Vandy game JJ played awful. The kid is not very consistent, he was raw when he came to LSU, and he still needs more coaching and work on his mechanics.

Imperfect......lol...is anything wrong with expecting him to throw it in the right zip code.

Shep is not an accomplished receiver. He catches accurate throws, but doesn't adjust well to the slightly off-target stuff he's been seeing a lot of from Jefferson.
All the LSU receivers need to do a better job of adjusting to the ball in stressful times.

people need to stop citing the "5 or 6" passes that receivers could have caught as a way to defend JJ. Those passes were terrible and maybe 1 should have been caught. He was inaccurate, ineffective and completely indefensible last night.
Exactly. I expect Dr. Plantz to be sending his van to pick up our receiving corp and give them all a spinal adjustment from twisting and torquing to try and catch the passes. Even many of the completions took a contortionist move to catch, making YAC, which should be our strength, non-existent.
