Aren't there different types of spread Os?

google the spread and see what you get. there are absolutely several variations of the "spread" offense. the name was taken from the O spreading the field so the D had to defend the whole field. hard core and exclusive thread involves undersized OL so they have to change their style of offense. the "run and shoot" by the houston oilers was the first spread i encountered. but the triple option, the option read, the west coast offense and others are in respects the spread.

We didn't have a successful vertical game. Our run game with the addition of decent passing game will render great results.

I mean, he's got a point, though... There are a few times last season where the option saved us. We don't go to the national championship if we don't have JJ in 2011.

Hopefully, we won't see anything like putting Spencer Ware under center on 4th and 1 from Alabama's 32 with only 8 minutes remaining, and a first down almost assures a victory, with Jeremy Hill, RS#10, and Michael Ford watching from the sidelines, as Spencer Ware with no momentum gets stuff by 8 Alabama defenders for a loss. Worst call in LSU history, directed by "The Mad Hatter". Give that man a raise!

Classic ranter exaggeration. While definitely one of the worst calls of the year it wasn't even the worst of that game. While some people choose to get annoyed at rantards like this, I choose to laugh at the sheer idiocy of the post.

How amazing were those calls to keep Jamie Howard passing vs Auburn in the fourth quarter?

The offense we are going to run is called a Air Coryell offense. You are going to see the same smash mouth running game but also a vertical spread passing game. Gonna see a lot of slants, curls, outs and ins of which 95% are based on timing. At the same time at least 1 receiver will be going deep every passing play. The passing game will be focused on making the defense play the whole field.

You are correct Sir, but WHY open up that old can of worms and make us all relive that nightmarish abomination on a fine Friday afternoon?

Had to go open up a new bottle of the Pink stuff after having the memory of that call summoned up to my conscious memory.
