That is the travesty of the system. That and the politicking by a biased sports reporting organization like ESPN screaming for a certain team to be in the NCG. It's almost like the Main stream media and the democrats!

When you consider who OSU and Bama played and who each defeated then the edge would have to go to OSU.

But many voters chose to consider the one loss each team suffered and use that as the point of comparison. In that case the nod would go to Bama.

Is their bias? Of course there's bias but all OSU had to do was defeat a six win Iowa State team and bias would never have played a part in the final 1-2 decision.

I won't argue the fairness of OSU being excluded in favor of Bama since I truly believe OSU should be playing in the BCSCG. My point is that OSU had their opportunity and failed to cash in.

Not a valid point since the exact same should apply to bama. From there you have to consider the "body of work"

it was rigged for bama to get in. Bama was in with 2 weeks left in the season. There really wasnt anything OSU could do to change that. You would have to be blind not to see it.

The same could be said for Bama. Had they beaten LSU they would have been number 1 and the argument would be between LSU and OSU with LSU having a tremendous edge over OSU due to schedule. That's not to say that LSU couldn't have been "OSUed" in that case!
The fact is that coaches had the ability to downgrade OSU by voting them at 5, and 6 instead of 3 is what is screwed up. OSU had a tougher schedule than Bama. COACHES SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOTE PERIOD

It is a valid point as it stands on its own. When you make the comparison to Bama also having an opportunity and failing then you open it up to every other team in the nation who failed to go unbeaten in 2011.

OSU, following Bama's defeat to LSU, was given a chance no other school had at the time and the failed to hold on to it.

There was no way for Bama to jump OSU other than OSU losing and they did. They had their chance to control their destiny and they gave it away.

I'm sorry, but if I want proof that college football has a shitty system, all I need to do is hear one person (you, in this case) argue that losing in week 10 or 11 makes you less deserving than losing in week 9.

No where in my post did I say what you're attributing to me. I started, and rather plainly, that OSU was ranked ahead of Bama following Bama's loss to LSU.

And I'll repeat once again that Bama would not have jumped OSU had OSU defeated a six win team.

I don't believe he made that claim. Its not a case of when OSU loss but rather who they lost too.

i find it comical that the bama apologists have to hang there hat on the quality of a loss.

Look there in and thats it. but dont sit here and tell me that bama had a better resume. i dont just eat the shite ESPN or bama is serving. Do your own home work.

Thats straight from the BCS website. Your logic....according to the BCS, doesnt hold water. LSU 9-6.

Yeah u can't lose an away game in double OT, but you can lose a home game to a 28 point underdog and still go the BCS NC like Florida (hence the now famous Tebow speech after the game).

The nice thing about the Internet is that things are here forever. When and if another team sits in the same situation that the gumps did this year, it will be very easy to bring all this back up and lock them out as well.

GET OVER IT.

3 point loss in double OT != blow out

Also, if Alabama was in Oklahoma Sts spot right now -- there would be NO question as to who should be in the game. Alabama got in on name brand alone.
