So your point is, O had _______ to do with Burrow coming to LSU?
Use a word. Hell, use a % if it’s easier.

It's disturbing that people still think he had anything to do with 2019.

Come on, man. Yes, we all know he is not a great coach, he behaves like a goon, he was super-fortunate and now needs to go.

However, recruiting is a huge part of winning a title and Orgeron played a huge part in getting some of LSU's best players on that team. Although Busch put Burrow on O's radar, it was O who decided what he had at QB wasn't going to get LSU to the next level, so he recruited him hard and Joe Burrow said O personally convinced him to come to LSU. Chase came to LSU because of how O brought the whole coaching staff to his house when he was looking to go elsewhere. K'lavon Chaisson said he was about to commit to Texas and didn't even want to give Orgeron a visit, so O went to his home and followed him to the airport at like 4 in the morning recruiting him until he got on the plane to go on his Florida visit. And he held a spot open for Justin Jefferson even though no power 5 schools offered him a scholarship.

He obviously had good fortune, but some of the best players on the team went to LSU because of O's hard work in recruiting. And we don't win the title without those guys, so O did have something to do with LSU winning a title in 2019.

The problem with O is that he wants excellence but does not seem to know how to get us there. Remember when Brady made all the WRs catch 10,000 balls in 2019? Crazy stuff like that. We are not sharp and don’t act hungry.

I haven’t read through all the comments…

But I think if he and Woodward can come up with an amicable split in private, that would go a long way with the fan base. Negotiate down way low end on the buyout and let Coach O resign for the good of the program. That could go a long way in solidifying him as an overall “hero” and not a villain. He helped us achieve 2019. We’ll always be grateful for that.

If he would voluntarily admit it’s time to step away for the good of the program , that would be big time. Whether forced or not. Sort of paralleling the way that Mainieri went out. If we could pull off a big upset win in upcoming weeks, what a perfect time to acknowledge it’s time he step away. There’s no reason for him to have to go out as a villain if he truly loves the Tigers.

80% overall.
O, directly and personally, 30%-40% at least.
It’s not easy to really eliminate the factors that O did NOT have at least some involvement with. And at that point you’d need to depose JB and his family to find the truth. Of course JB has already stated how much O believing in him was such a huge thing but you people somehow discredit even that.

Neither, I consider him more of a fraud. I don't hate the guy but I also don't give him that much credit for 2019.

I don’t even understand what all this means lol, but I’m not going to argue arbitrary numbers or percentages about our opinions on influences that got Joe here.

I clearly think the circumstances in BR at the time made LSU the obvious landing spot for a competitor like Burrow given the limited options to choose from in June when most schools didn’t even have a scholarship to give, and you think Joe Burrow was likely headed to the American Athletic Conference to play against Temple at Nippert Stadium before Ed Orgeron convinced him to change his mind because of his “recruit-speak” in his time in Baton Rouge and his aw shucks I’m just a humble cast off speeches on the awards junket.

Agree to disagree

Yeah, meek and humble Joe would be teaching PE back in The Plains if it wasn’t for inspirational Ed giving him the confidence he needed to see himself as a winner

Asshat. One of the dumbest coaches of all time. Parlayed a 15-0, greatest season of all time into a 5-5 and 4-8 shite show in a blink of an eye. You have to be a complete freaking idiot to do that.

While not really fair, I think this depends a lot more on how the program rebounds than anything he does between now and then...

Barring something absurd on his part (which history suggests should not be considered out of the question).
