Did I say that? NO. Shitpost.
We're discussing people trying to rewrite history, no one's even saying O should stay.

Soo what was the point in posting Burrow's emotional Heisman speech that was made shortly before the culmination of arguably the greatest college football season everywhere? I'm not sure that's necessarily an accurate assessment of history either.

This is the one that I think is funny too.

Burrow's choices were the end of his college career and likely any shot at the NFL, Cincy, or LSU. I give O and the rest of the staff credit for recognizing that we needed someone at QB and getting him here, but I don't think it was some massive recruiting coup considering the competition.

Honestly I think he will be remembered fondly. I say that even though the wheels have fallen off the program right now. I think Woodward makes a good hire. I think that the program rebounds relatively quickly. After the recovery it will be easier to give CEO at least some credit for staying out of the way in 2019.

You guys are worse than Communists with revisionist history.
Burrow, a guy you idolize, gave Orgeron the credit.

That's usually what a loyal person does, doesn't mean it's true. It's called just being a good person and not taking all of the credit.

It was an easy choice for Burrow once Frost decided not to rock the boat with the prize recruit of his first recruiting class in Lincoln (stupid, and will cost him his job, but he was in a new job and didn’t want to piss off the best recruit Nebraska had pulled in years at the time).

Can you not read? Seriously.
Re-read the thread and use your reading comprehension skills to determine why.
If you are unable to, after a legitimate effort, I will explain.

of course he did. He wasn’t gonna say the truth that O clapped and punched himself all year and stayed out of the real coaches way. Joe is a loyal guy of course he would say that.

You think Scott Frost actually said those words?

Burrow means that by saying they weren’t bringing on anymore QBs after Martinez signed that he took that personally, especially as a legacy.

This isn’t that complicated

Oh go frick yourself, you pompous prick. My reading comprehension is perfectly fine and I know perfectly well the point you were trying to make. I just think it was asinine and devoid of any substance.

Burrow arrived for his visit after a one-day trip to Cincinnati, the only other team Burrow requested to speak with and the one many considered the favorite, Orgeron among them. “When he came here, he was thinking about Cincinnati pretty hard,” the coach admitted.

Burrow was believed to be leaning toward Cincinnati when he made the trip to the Bayou. The Bearcats were the local team, coached by former Ohio State assistant Luke Fickell.

So when Burrow left Ohio State, his two main options were Cincinnati and LSU. Cincy was considered an early favorite because of Burrow's relation to coach Luke Fickell, who was on Ohio State's staff in 2015 and '16 with Burrow.

More?

It's odd how you people seemed to have completely forgotten what led up to 2019.
Or more likely, you just weren't paying attention because bandwagon fans don't give a damn until the wins start coming in.

I'm just, ya know, quoting the actual words from the actual source, not speculating bullshite.
Keep spinning though, it's funny.

The fact is Nebraska wasn't interested.

Yes, using actual statements from the source of the discussion is often considered "asinine and devoid of any substance"...by the functionally retarded.

Bill Busch was the connection, yes. But..

But, according to a report from Sports Illustrated, LSU coach Ed Orgeron managed to lure Burrow away from favored Cincinnati over the course of a weekend in May in which he, Joe Burrow, father Jimmy and brother Dan talked football, including Joe Burrow's future place in LSU. That, and a couple Cajun meals that featured boiled crawfish, helped Burrow make his decision in favor of LSU.

Burrow was coming to LSU the day Aranda got Busch hired, and probably would have come anyway imo. He was simply the easiest way to connect with the school the Burrows identified as the best contender with the least competition at QB.

Cincinnati was a nice way to make it look like it wasn’t predetermined because of proximity to home and again he already had a relationship with Fickell.

Lots of tales involving recruiting are molded to fit what the recruit or school want them to say.

I’ll leave it to you to connect the dots as to why looking like it was already decided where he was going wouldn’t be best for either party.

Ah gotta love “the experts” takes

Let me ask you, knowing what you know now about Burrow and the kind of competitor he is, do you honestly believe he was torn between Tiger Stadium and (looks up Bearcats stadium name) Nippert Stadium???

I always thought adding the crawfish anecdote was a nice touch
