Clemson got to the top with recruiting classes ranked around 15. Sure they are rolling now but that is a relatively new thing for them
This can be a good thing, especially in a weak conference. You get a lot more continuity from year to year as opposed to an "NFL factory" type school.

A good point however is that O had a hard time recruiting the 2018 class because of the rough start to 2017 and the media narrative that he was destined to fail. Once he showed that the program could compete with him at HC in 2018, the recruiting has been better than ever. So I will concede that until proven otherwise, this is a very temporary problem created by a complete whiff of a recruiting class.
I agree, the problem isn't with Orgeron's recruiting, he just hasn't had enough time to actually build the program.

O's biggest mistakes? Hmmm...
1. Running off a brilliant, young, innovative defensive mind in Aranda and replacing him with a retread in Bo Pelini...and giving him an absolutely absurd contract
2. Not replacing Joe Brady with a young up and comer with a similar pedigree, and falling back on the old, retread guy in Scott Linehan
3. #1 and #2, along with his offseason comments about the defense (i.e. shots at Aranda) show O learned nothing from last season about how to win in the modern game and he is gonna show us that he can win "his way"
Those are O's top mistakes this offseason and really concerns me that he may get to hire ANOTHER DC at the end of this year...his track record on coaching hires is frankly quite bad.

He got a head coaching job at a good power 5 school that just placed their coach in the nfl. Jesus

A low level assistant with no prior offensive coaching experience?

We'll see what the record is at year's end. There is no excuse for the defensive collapse, but O has it well in hand. Absolultely.

You're so desperate to say something bad about O that you just made up some shite and are now having a hard time proving it to be true.
Sad.

His big mistake might have been, being caught with the Karma bug.
Signs $60million contract, 3 months later dumps wife of 30+ years and dating chick 20 years his younger.

What did you want him to do?
Use 1 of the three scholarships to go out and get a grad transfer QB to compete with Myles and at least seal having an adequate backup.
By not doing that he basically accepted a strong risk of now being in rebuild mode rather than trying to continue to vie for championships
And I don’t want to hear that no QB was coming here. The last guy to do it beat out Myles and became the most decorated QB maybe ever on his way to becoming the 1st pick. Nobody was scared of Myles.
Kirby stockpiles grad transfers to try and aggressively chase Titles but we can’t? We have to just accept a rebuild? Weak sauce. O failed to strike while the iron was hot because he got comfortable and complacent like most non-elite coaches do. He then followed that decision up by falsely believing that last year was mostly Ensminger so he went Old again with his PG coordinator. 2 poor moves that effected the most important position on the field.

1. He won a Natty with mostly Miles’ recruits and players
2. He’s been here for long enough and hired a shite ton of his own coaches. 2 have worked out — Brady (1yr) and McMahon
